We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jason Street. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jason below.
Alright, Jason thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew the moment I spit my first bar as a kid in a freestyle circle this was for me but what really convinced me was the first time I touched that stage. I was so nervous to preform in front of that many people and when it happen I just lost my self in a good way. You know when you’re doing something and you realize time flies and you’re like damn it’s over. That’s how that performance was for me and that was when I knew this was my calling. This was what I wanted to do for life.

Jason, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Honestly I would’ve never took rapping as serious as I do if Timmy Turn Up wouldn’t have had my back from day one. He’s the one that let me lay down my first track on a mic and told me “yo bro that was fire” I was like “fr”. He’s always been there for me since the start and that’s why we created Addictive Accidents. Because we both believe in each other to the fullest. For those that don’t know Addictive Accidents is me (JStreet) and Timmy Turn Up’s rap collective. We started this journey together and the amount of shows, tours, traveling, music videos, interviews ect. we did just proves to me every time that this is what we were born to do. I know this is my calling and I’ll never stop as long as I can breath to spit another verse.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I think something that shows my resilience is that when me and Timmy first started. We got 50 views. I said I’d quit if we don’t have a music video in a year from that. A year later we had multiple. I said if we can’t do a show bro this isn’t for me. We had several. I said bro if we can’t go on tour then I might be done. We’ve been on tour. Every time I’ve set a goal that I think looks unachievable we achieved it and more. There’s been days I did want to quit because to do this takes a lot of mental capacity. But every time I know we’re cable. I know we will succeed. I know we will be what we want and that just shows how resilient I am.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think the most rewarding thing for me is inspiring others. I’ve had countless people hit me up and be like dude that’s dope what you’re doing if only I could and I tell them all the same thing. You can. Don’t ever think you can’t do what you dream because that puts a limit on your ability in this life. You can and you will and I love when people tell me “wow thank you bro that means more than you know”. I think over all I just wanna help people and let them know they’re not alone in doubt but never let that doubt win. You can and you will achieve. No just means new opportunities.
