We recently connected with Jason Rosell and have shared our conversation below.
Jason , appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
One of the biggest risks I have ever taken was starting a wellness company from scratch. I was told but 100’s of people that unless you have a perfect body, are super tall, and amazing looks, that the chances of succeeding in the television/wellness/fitness space would be extremely difficult.
Fast forward, I took all of the negatives I had going for myself such as being depressed, overweight, broke, and countless of other things I have suffered from in the past, and brought them to light. I had a super transformation that I achieved for myself in all of those areas and exposed them. This indeed created my pinnacle of success, which motivated me to help others do the same.
I decided to focus on helping people who wanted to change their narrative and story, from “pain to purpose”.
Fast forward, I have helped thousands of people around the globe find their happiness and success in many areas of their lives. That to me is one of the most glorifying feelings of accomplishment in the wellness industry.
This has given me the opportunity to work on television with major celebrities, become a healthy books author, a podcaster, and so much more! Learn more about me and my “Caliente Fitness” brand on – JasonRosell.com

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
How did you decide you wanted to get into television, lose weight and change your life?
I had lost weight while in my last two years of college and became a personal trainer in the process. While training in college, I decided to become an actor where I was filming a lot of local television and independent film projects. I later decided to move to Los Angeles shortly after graduating. Within a year and a half of my move, I became a reality TV star on MTV/VH1 networks.
In early 2010, I was working as a full time professional SAG actor, after many years of doing reality television. One day on set, while working on the show “All my children,” I was having a conversation with a few of my co-stars on how I lost all of my weight, and completely transformed my life from the inside and out.
They were so impressed that some of them wanted me to coach them. A few months later, I started my wellness brand “Caliente Fitness.” Shortly after, it became an international sensation, as I was able to help many women and men around the world get in the best shape (mentally/emotionally/physically) with all of my coaching + online food/fitness programs, workout dvds and books that have appeared on television shows for many years. That is a very short condensed version of how it all came to life.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
1. Do things yourself. Do not rely on people to do things for you at first. Find the help, and resources you need to make your vision come to life.
2. Be consistent. Don’t start a project and do it sparingly. Dedicate the same days and times week after week, until your vision becomes a reality.
3. Be open-minded. Always keep an open mind when it comes to your creations and ask yourself who your ideal audiences are. This will help your creation to be flexible and have fun in the process while making it come to life.
4. Be curious. Always ask questions, and expand your resources. It is good to get a feel about what others are wanting and needing. This will help you create your product.
5. Be honest. Always be honest and who you are, and the product that you’re putting out to the public. When you’re fully transparent in these things, you will attract the ideal customers to purchase your product/service.
