We recently connected with Jason Quevedo and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
We strive to offer a simple food item, such as our breakfast burritos, using high quality ingredients. We want to offer a high end product that people can really taste the quality of our product with each bite. We want to source great products from local food companies to not only offer a quality product, but also help out the local economy as much as we can.
Jason, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are a breakfast burrito pop-up in the San Fernando Valley. I became a foodie about 10 years ago and started to try and duplicate food items I had at restaurants at home. I found a real passion for cooking and loved seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they would try something I made that they enjoyed. I had zero kitchen experience, so I got a job at a popular restaurant to learn the business. It’s been a journey, but I learn something new everyday. This truly is a passion project for me, that will hopefully one day become something much larger.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media eas and is incredibly important for my business, as that is how we set up pre-orders and sell our burritos. I got the idea from a breakfast sandwich pop-up during the pandemic that was using a pre-order, pre-paid business model and I thought it was a great idea. It not only helps keep down costs, but also helps eliminate food waste which is important for us. The way I built my audience was messaging every food influencer I could and invite them to try a burrito in hopes of them reposting. It helped us out tremendously, especially in the beginning. Using social media in today’s environment is such a useful tool when trying to build a business and your brand.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think something that helped build our reputation was really the quality of ingredients we use in our burritos. We pride ourselves on using high quality ingredients that are above the industry standard for breakfast burritos. We want people to really taste the quality of our food and the love we put into every burrito we push out. That is the biggest thing that we want to promote. Quality, quality, quality!
