We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jason Jansen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jason , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
Recently I had someone hesitantly reached out to me who had just received DNA results. Their results were not what they had expected. Come to find out, her dad was not her biological father. But he was the biological father to her siblings and they all shared the same mother who died when they were young children.
Through the DNA results she was able to find and contact a half sibling, living two thousand miles away from her, that just so happened to grow up in the same neighborhood as she did. They recently met in person and are currently building a unique friendship out of shared shock, curiosity, and nostalgia.
During our meeting her father’s presence was clear, direct, and strong. He immediately told her that he knew, all along, that she was not his biological daughter. He chose to raise her as his own and never let anyone know of his wife’s infidelity because he was always in love with her.
He told his daughter that she was “always his and being a father has nothing to do with DNA.” The love that came through during her session was overwhelmingly beautiful and a true testament to fatherhood. In the end, love won. I find that it always does, even if it has to wait 60 years.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am always humbled when folks ask to work with me. They trust me with their hearts and minds and that is something I take very seriously and honor. Communicating with loved ones who have passed is often a personal, emotional, and raw experience for my clients and I will do everything in my power to create a space of openness, love, and support for them. I ask that clients leave any fear, guilt, and shame at the door, because in our sessions we harness the power of grace, mercy, and love while speaking with their loved ones beyond the veil.
That being said, appointments with me are often full of laughter and surprises! There is something so powerful and magical about laughing with the person you are grieving. It is a privilege for me to witness something so intimate and healing.
I also offer Spirit Guide appointments and past life readings. I really enjoy helping and working with individuals by offering them three sessions with me—one of each style.
A Spirit Guides appointments allows you to meet and connect with all or some of your guides. I ask folks to envision a boardroom full of beings, spirits, creatures, and occasionally passed loved ones. They gather around the table with your best interest in mind and help guide you through this life with its many twists and turns.
Past-life readings are where we explore past lives you have lived. We work to find common themes and connections they have and what that might mean for you. We discover what you can learn from them and see how they might be shaping your life now.
I also host Dining with Spirit events. This is when you are invited to book an intimate gathering for you and your guests. You can choose to open up your home or reserve a table at your favorite restaurant, pour the spirits, and host a memorable meal like no other.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Authentically coming from a place of service. When serving your client with a tailored approach is your priority it will do wonders for your reputation. When it is genuinely about them and not about you, and you love every second of it, then you know you are doing the right thing and establishing trust. Doing the right thing will always help build your reputation within your market.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Curiosity and faith. To paraphrase Barbara Brown Taylor, faith is about doggedly putting one foot in front of the other and when you arrive at an unexpected situation, which you will, you respond from a place of curiosity by saying, “hmmm what’s this about?” Instead of, “I don’t like this,” or “this isn’t working.”
