We recently connected with Jason Graves and have shared our conversation below.
Jason, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you’re open to it, can you talk to us about the best (or worst) investment you’ve made. What’s the backstory and the relevant context behind why you made the investment
The best investment I’ve made is investing in myself to become the better person that I knew I could be. No matter what anybody has ever had to say to try and stop me I just kept pushing and used that negative conversation as fuel to power my goals and dreams. The worst investment I’ve made was purchasing equipment just to have it instead of buying exactly what I need and when I needed it.
Jason, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The way that I got into podcast started with a conversation at my high schools homecoming game and it grew from there. A few bumps and bruises along the way but I kept pushing and here we are today with Grown Folks Business headed to the next level.
I do shows with a live audience where we talk about everything under the sun from self help to, int he words of Marvin Gaye, sexual healing lol and eventually will get back to streaming them on multiple platforms.
The one thing I want potential followers and supporters to know is that when you support and follow me you are getting a genuine person who cares about people and listens to what you all have to say and want to hear. You ask questions, you will get answers and if I don’t know the answer I will find it and get it to you. It’s all about growth and becoming a better Me for Me and the people that follow and support. We all become better together
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
The initial capital to start came from working my regular job and I used those paychecks to fund the business. The same way that we work to make the other corporations and businesses big bucks is the same thing I did for me. Traded my time for their money to sew into my business to make me money and I’m putting my employees in the same position to building their businesses and work on their dreams and goals
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
You have to show them and let them know that they matter and that you care about what they have going on while making them feel they are truly apart of the family dynamic that’s being built. We are more than individual people working towards a goal. We are friends and family that support each other inside the business as well as outside. We formed bonds and built relationships that stretch far beyond the test of time.
