Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jason Flores. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jason , appreciate you joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
The first time I knew I wanted to pursue Music Producing I was 9 years old. I never had intentions to be a music producer at first, I always wanted to be a cop or something in that field. I was downloading random beat-making apps on my phone (thinking they were games) and I started downloading all of them until I made my “Fierst song”. Every Music Producer knows their first beat as kids is their worst. Being the kid I was, I was so happy and showed everyone.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a 20-year-old Music Producer/Artist Manager/Record label owner. My name is Jason Flores (Stage name Robo Jakon), and I live in Houston Texas. I got into the music industry when I was a kid, I just wanted to download music games until I ran across beat-making apps. I kept making beats on my phone for like 6 years until I got my first laptop at the age of 15. I started buying studio-quality equipment back in 2020 when covid hit Texas. I provide amazing-sounding music that people across the world can hear and enjoy. What sets me apart from others in my opinion is that I stay consistent in my workflow and try to give everyone the best listening experience. I want to give people songs they can relate to and enjoy at any time of day. I am really proud that I managed to build an amazing team that I can trust and love. I want people to know that my team and I will try our best to create music that everyone across the world can love and cherish.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a music producer is making songs/sounds/Melodies you love, doing the craft is so fun and I can make whatever I want without people telling me what’s wrong. I choose what makes it in my final projects. I just turn on my studio, put on my headphones, and start working with no distractions.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
In my view, I believe society can help the artist by just listening to them. both in their craft and in general when they say something. When people listen to a new song at least once a day for 1 week it helps the artist in so many ways. Also, I’ve seen so many artists say they want privacy and alone time when they go out in public, but a lot of people attack them wanting pictures or an autograph.
