We recently connected with Jason Davis and have shared our conversation below.
Jason, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
“Stay Venomous Records” first came to fruition by a main idea of trying to help other artists release their own music to the masses, using distribution and promotion. Not only did I want to originally help other artists, but I mainly wanted to show others that they too can get noticed within the music industry. It was made public in March 28th, 2022. There were three original artists to start with and now we have over 35 amazing individuals who all work together. We, as a team full of talented artists, plan to take over regionally and then globally, showing our passion for music. I originally came up with the name because I love reptiles and also because music is like venom. Once it enters you, there’s no going back. Also it spreads like venom. Music has always been a passion of mine ever since I could remember. My older brother, Nikita, taught me how to produce music on the computer back in 2008 using a program called, “Logic”. It’s a D.A.W. (Digital Audio Workstation) that is similar to GarageBand. Ever since then, I have been making my own music and disk-jockeying. As well as helping other artists get their music heard! I knew that this endeavor was worthwhile since day one. I love that I get to meet so many unique people each day, all while assisting them in their goals and dreams as well. Teamwork really does make the dream work. I also love getting to hear music that only a few people hear before it goes viral. I would like to say that I am extremely grateful to have such an amazing roster of hard-working individuals. There is no limit!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Jason Davis A.K.A. King Kobra. I am 29 years-old and make Dubstep Music. I also run my own record label called, “Stay Venomous Records”. I am an entrepreneur and also an apprentice electrician. I started producing music in 2012. Since then, I have been trying to be more versatile in style and production. I also make my own sounds by using “sound design” on Serum. On March 28th, 2022, I created my own record label. What sets me apart from other record labels is: I offer more of a split for royalties than others. The percentages are 55% goes to the artist and 45% goes to us. Most labels do either a 50/50 split or take more. Also, what sets us apart from others as well is, that we accept artists no matter what genre of music they create. Other labels tend to focus on one genre and aren’t very versatile. I am very proud of what I created and absolutely love the amazingly, talented individuals that are on our roster. It keeps growing every week and it won’t stop! #StayVenomous

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
The internet is a marvelous invention and is what I use to create, distribute, and connect with other like-minded people. Social Media plays a huge role in this as well. The brand is noticed online and by word of mouth. Not only are we on all platforms, but we connect and communicate through FaceBook Messenger and Instagram. Brand Loyalty is very important because people can recognize us and share with others to generate more exposure.
Any advice for managing a team?
We always aim to stay professional, but like to have fun with it! We have high standards as far as the music industry goes but accept and work with anyone willing to put in the time and effort. Teamwork makes the dream work. Having a strong team keeps everything in order and organized. Especially the ones working extremely hard and showing their efforts. Maintaining a high morale means having integrity. We at “Stay Venomous Records” hold these beliefs dearly and will continue working hard and professionally. I would like to give a huge shoutout to the whole team so far. Thank you! Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed and is very appreciated.
