Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jason Brozak. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jason thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
It’s 2011 and I see this YouTube video of a guy spraying peelable paint on his wheels. It was called Plastidip. A sprayable rubber coating that peels off clean when you want it to. For some reason the process made more sense in my brain than vinyl wraps. So I tried it out. I’ve been hooked ever since. A budget friendly product that I could customize with in my own garage.
Jason, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Jason Brozak and I have a small business customizing cars. I got into these peelable paint products almost 12 years ago. It was a great way for a Do-it-yourselfer to customize your car on a budget at home. I started experimenting with the products and doing multiple layered graphics like you would with paint and it worked! So now I create complex custom peelable paint jobs in all finishes and styles for my customers. I am one of the only people in the country that does custom work with these products to this level. It is also the only service I offer at my company. Many other custom shops do window tint, stereos, lighting m, etc. I only specialize in the peelable stuff.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Yes! So I started doing my own cars back I. 2013 and I would change it up to something different every year. Fast forward 3 years and I did my first customer car (was also a friend) it was a 1994 Dodge viper that was black and I sprayed it lime green. Then another friend wanted something done. Then a friend of a friend and so on. Next thing I know I’m quitting my day job and going full time. That was early 2018 and I haven’t looked back.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
We originally started in Omaha Nebraska. That is a relatively small market compared to central Texas. I wanted a better opportunity to grow in a larger market with a pretty much year round recreational automotive season. So in June of 2020 during the peak of COVID we decided to take the leap and move to Kyle Texas. It meant starting over with clientele in an area no one had even heard of JustTheDipz. In just 3 short years of being here we’ve been able to far surpass anything we could have accomplished in the Midwest. Business is constantly growing and I’m taking on more higher end vehicles with complex designs than ever before.
