We recently connected with Jasming (Millie) Jackson and have shared our conversation below.
Jasming, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
It would be my mural experience. Been wanting mural piece since 2019. Through this experience, I’ve gained some knowledge from the creative process, time management, and having patience with the whole process. Just recently, I finished my second mural . First mural was base off my emotions at that time and my second piece was a trippy freestyle. Very thankful for these moments. Bless for more in the future.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My name is Jasming ^_^. Some know me by “Millie”. I like to express who I am and what I vibe to through my paintings, drawings , digital art, poetry, music, fashion etc. Creating has always been a drive for me since I was younger . It’s something that I can go to whenever I need to clear my mind.
Back in 2018 I created my art brand called “Namelss”. I launched my website back in September of 2020. I would definitely say I’ve seen growth. My mindset has changed since I started this journey. I’ve got to see things in a new perspective. For a creator, change is needed. It helped me shift in a way I can see, think, move and create better.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Not having limits. Not put myself or let others put me in a box. Limits are set backs. Which leads to self sabotage. I had my fair share with that and I wanna move forward from that mindset. It’s okay to out grow something , change it up or start something new. Don’t be your own set back. Release fear and doubt. Don’t rush the process. When things get tough, keep moving. Don’t let you, someone or something stop motion if it’s not needed.
Also, take time to yourself.
Don’t be afraid to be with “You”.
You learn so much from taking that time to understand yourself. Calmer waters will be present. Just gotta stand still to see it through.

Peaceful skies.
Clouds in site.
Breaking news.
But no bad news.
So bright
Don’t even know what to do.
Collect your fruits.
Treasure your heart.
Let it be known that
Everything is gonna be alright.
Get ready to be free.
In time they will see.
Why your light is powerful and bright.
Don’t be afraid to fight for your dreams.
“ Live. Be. Always You. “

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
More networking events. I have experience many art events and seen so much growth attending each one. Growth within my social skills has improved. Before attending art events I was a shy gal. I would struggle with communicating and interacting with others.Still growing but for sure trusting the process along the way.
Also, close connections do form fast in this environment. It’s like a domino effect. You meet one person, connect with them , and next thing you know a flow of opportunities start falling into place. From friendships, job offers, platform, gigs and many more.
