Jasmine, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel” is a famous quote by Maya Angelou and something I believe in so strongly. That being said, I hope to leave people feeling more loved, seen and heard then before we crossed paths. I think it’s divine for us to come across all sorts of people in out lives and it’s never for no reason, no matter if they stay or not. I should hope my tombstone reads ” Jasmine Twineham ‘ she laughed hard & loved even harder.’.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was raised in Ohio, now living life down below the Mason-Dixon Line in Nashville, TN. 📍
I may not be a certified “Woo-Girl”, but I love this city that I get to call home & the beautiful souls that exist in it. I have a passion for laughter and capturing candid images that bring out the core of who people are and giving them the space to feel their best in front of the camera. When I’m not photographing, I’m boot slinging at Tecovas! You’ll always see me in cowboy boots and bell bottoms! I’ve always had a love for art in any form whether dance, music, photography, drawing – you name it! Since moving to Nashville, I’ve been running my photography business with a focus on musicians and local artists. I do it all though! Weddings, elopements, proposals, branding, portraits etc. I just love getting to meet new people and learning their story. Let’s get together over a good cup of coffee and laugh- you’re always welcome at my table!
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Truthfully, J. Twineham Photography started out of desperation and grief. I moved here with the intention to be with a guy I was dating at the time. Things fell apart, no family around and a need for a creative outlet. So while still being bound to the couch from heartbreak & sickness, I still pushed on and kept building my business. Photography has helped me build such a great community within Nashville and I have met somme of the coolest people. I never thought I would say it, but I’m grateful for the grief because it’s brought me the life I’ve dreamed of.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
RELATIONSHIPS ARE THE GLUE AND THE GREASE!
I spend a lot of time networking within Nashville and building relationships with those people. The best way to get work is to genuinely care for the people around you. Everyone is trying to get somewhere and the best thing we can do is help carry each other home.
