We recently connected with Jasmine Pulido and have shared our conversation below.
Jasmine , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
When creating Earth Tone Ink, I wanted a name that represented something meaningful and real.
Nature and the earth was what came to mind. I love all the colors that are found in it and I’m drawn to the elements of the earth.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Jasmine Pulido, Owner and artist behind Earth Tone Ink. I am certified in Cosmetic Tattoos. I’m currently apprenticing to begin my journey as a full time Tattoo Artist with Serenity Tattoo Studio in North Austin.
I was born and raised in Central California but enjoying my time in the beautiful Austin, TX.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One thing I had to unlearn recently was timing. It’s easy to get caught up with having to rush into things. The world is moving so fast, social media, moving even faster. With that, it’s overwhelming to try to stay relevant.
I learned that taking my time to create a pure and genuine business is the only way to go for me.
My main focus is improving my craft.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
As a side hobby, I hand draw blackwork-style designs on ceramic plant pots.
I am using my love for drawing to help fund my apprenticeship. Find me at local vendor markets in the ATX areas!
