Jasmine, appreciate you joining us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later

I started my skincare business and journey in 2018 after having my first son. Being a mompreneur has been a fun and exhausting experience! I was just starting to work at a call center when I started the journey with our business and my son had a break out and I wanted to make something at home for it; before I knew it I wanted to make a whole line! I believe that had I started sooner before having kids that I could have the open schedule and availability to really flourish through this business and pass to my kids!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Jasmine I’m a licensed esthetician and owner of The BNM Experience. The BNM Experience got started September of 2018 as Beautiful Natural Me, it was something i was doing for my son and I realized I loved it and wanted to keep doing it! I wanted to make a eczema cream for my son that wouldn’t be full of chemicals and I would know every ingredient! I did my own research and got knowledge of different ingredients and found a formula we loved and I started making it! When I saw how well it works I made skincare products for use and purchase, now we work with a MedSpa providing skincare and wax services using professional grade products! I got my license in 2022 and now work with clients to create a skincare treatment plan and at home regimen to help correct or reduce any skin concerns they may have! The thing I’m most proud of is how far our company has come and how far we are willing to go! There have been many bumps in the road but we haven’t stopped and won’t stop until our own products are being used by everyone! When it comes to The BNM Experience the “BNM” part stands for “Beautiful Natural Me” and that’s what we want to create and provide, services and products that make you love the skin you’re in just as much as we do! This brand for us is about giving a luxury experience for those who need a moment to enjoy themselves! Some of our products and services are customizable for the client who will be enjoying the use! Skincare is a passion that I really started to dive in on after becoming a mother and I wouldn’t change this for the world!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson I had to unlearn is the expectancy of support from friends and family! I had the notion that because they were my loved ones I would instantly get their support and they would automatically help me! I quickly realized that was not correct at all, they aren’t obligated to acknowledge my business and journey and I have to be okay with that! It hurts yes because in your head it’s a no brainer but one thing I have learned is you can’t expect you out of other people. Just because you would do it doesn’t mean they will!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Something that helped build my reputation was my personality and my confidence! We would go out to pop up shops in the beginning and meet with other business men and women and also consumers. The biggest part during all those events was me being myself and not trying to sell a product just to sell but offering a product because it’s what you needed! I spoke with knowledge and confidence on my products and what I knew and o was honest if I didn’t know something! I made my customers and clients feel welcomed like we were friends! I match the energy of my client without losing the character of myself and make them feel welcomed to my space! That helped build my reputation to a place where wanted to work with me and my brand and help my succedd
