We recently connected with Jasmine Merrill and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine , thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Jasmine Merrill Coaching & Consulting was birthed from years of assisting aspiring authors and entrepreneurs with product creation and business strategies. After becoming an established author and entrepreneur myself, many people begun to inquire about my process of rapid launching my books and business ideas effortlessly. A fellow leader in my industry explained something that ultimately catapulted Jasmine Merrill Coaching & Consulting LLC. He explained, “If you are asked how to do something at-least 3 times, make a product or service out of it.” I took that advice and established my coaching & consulting business based on the repeated inquiries I received.
As an inspirational speaker, talking with people has always been a passion of mine. And being able to provide assistance in making someone else’s passion their means of monetization and career just tops the cake. With Jasmine Merrill Coaching & Consulting, I am able to merge those two.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Jasmine Merrill and I am a dedicated wife and mother. Outside of those family roles, I take pride in sharing that I am also a 9x Christian Author & Speaker. Writing has always been a passion of mine, and it is what ultimately led me to take a leap of faith and catapult my speaking career. My literary work has been featured in multiple magazines (some reaching international levels), local newspapers and I have had the pleasure of co-authoring in a few other authors books. I have been able to deliver powerful motivational speakers to various audiences, including college students, church conferences, and national organizations.
Alongside those accomplishments, I have also had the privilege of hosting my own women’s empowerment events, establishing a ministry dedicated to single moms (SMILE – Single Moms Inspiring Leading & Empowering), and launched a self-publishing company (The WRITE Goals).
In all that I have done, I am most proud of the fact that as a mother, my children can look up to me in a positive way as they see me uplifting and inspiring lives around me. The books that I have written have one common motive: To inspire, influence and impact the reader in a positive way.
To any potential clients who may become interested in collaborating with me, I want you to know that your story matters! Your WHY is the driving force behind your vision. Do not allow excuses to hinder your goals. Let me help you turn your passion into your purpose driven business.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
There are a few moments in my business where I had to pivot direction and goals. I’d like to share about them. Early in my career when I first became an author, I quickly realized that my message needed to go beyond the pages in the books; People needed to HEAR my story. I had felt this deep tug on my heart to start sharing my testimony and experiences with my target audience at the time, which were single moms. This desire is what led me to establish a ministry where I hosted women’s empowerment events geared towards the chapters in my first book, Unveiled. I’m grateful for that initiative I took in that moment because it birthed the speaker in me. People realized how impactful my speeches were, and I started to receive requests to speak at other conferences and events. This ended up allowing me to temporarily pause on writing and pivot my focus to delivering power packed speeches.
Another moment where things had to pivot in my business was when I had established a publishing business. I have a gift of being able to create book ideas and content with ease. In honing in on that gift, people became intrigued by how quickly I could push another book out, so as you would imagine, the questions and interests started flooding in. I had people literally begging me to publish their books for them, and thus The WRITE Goals LLC was created. Five years into that business, I started to merge away from publishing to focus on pushing my own products. After dedicating so much time to helping push other peoples products and ideas, I realized that I had not given my own products and business ideas their much deserved attention. I merged away from the business as a publisher, and shifted my focus back on marketing myself as an author and speaker.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has been referrals. Word of mouth is the best form of promoting. When you learn that your customers and clients’ experiences have the biggest impact on your brand/business, you will quickly develop a process for building referrals. When people have good experiences with you, they are often excited to share with others about it. It is the one way to ensure that first time customers become lifetime supporters.
