The idea for my business, PetalsOfAWoman, blossomed from a simple yet powerful desire to make women feel beautiful. I started by crafting earrings, each piece a small token of empowerment for women around the world. As I delved deeper into this creative endeavor, I began networking and meeting incredible women, each with her own unique story and journey.

It was through these connections that the seed of a larger vision was planted. I realized that beyond physical adornment, there was a profound need for emotional and spiritual connection. Women needed a tribe – a safe space for empowerment, sisterhood, and mutual support. Guided by a sense of divine direction (and a bit of humor, as I often think to myself, “I had no idea I would be doing this!”), I decided to create PetalsOfAWoman Tribe.

The concept was simple but transformative. I envisioned a community where women could come together for sleepover retreats, share their stories, and uplift one another. I wanted to create the group of friends I had always longed for – to do fun things, travel, and enjoy meaningful experiences together. This wasn’t just about filling a gap in the market; it was about fulfilling a heartfelt need for connection and belonging.

I knew this was a worthwhile endeavor because every interaction reinforced the importance of having a supportive community. Women needed a space to feel seen, heard, and celebrated. My journey into this industry began with a passion for creating beauty and a desire to empower women. I initially started my business by crafting earrings, aiming to help women feel beautiful and confident. This simple beginning eventually blossomed into something much more profound and impactful.

As I immersed myself in the world of handmade jewelry, I connected with numerous incredible women. Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson I had to unlearn is that things are not always easy, and that’s okay. Early on, I believed that if I was truly passionate and dedicated, everything would fall into place effortlessly. However, reality quickly showed me that challenges and setbacks are a natural part of the journey.

The backstory to this realization began when I first started PetalsOfAWoman. Initially, I was making earrings and hoped that my passion and hard work would be enough to ensure success. But as I faced obstacles – from slow sales to balancing multiple responsibilities – I felt disheartened and questioned whether I could continue.

It was during these tough times that I realized the importance of resilience and faith. I had to unlearn the notion that success should come easily and embrace the understanding that God gives us gifts for a reason. Every challenge became a lesson, and every setback an opportunity to grow stronger.

I learned to continue praying and trusting in the process, even when I felt like giving up. This shift in perspective allowed me to persevere and ultimately led to the creation of the PetalsOfAWoman Tribe, where I now empower other women to embrace their own journeys with faith and determination.

Unlearning the idea that things should be easy helped me develop a deeper appreciation for the struggles and triumphs along the way, reinforcing the belief that with persistence and prayer, we can overcome any obstacle.
