Jasmine, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Sacred Serenity was born out of my own self-healing, self-love, and self-care journey. I was in a space of solitude, stepping away from the noise of the world. It allowed me to reconnect with my energy, vibration, and my truest self in its purest form!
In that stillness, I learned to love all aspects of me, the good, the bad, the parts of me that were unheard and undervalued. I fully acknowledged the fullness of me, and it felt good!!!! As I developed my relationship with GOD, I felt a peace and happiness that overcame me that otherwise I could never fulfill. I had searched all over for it. GOD had a mission just for me. It was a transformative experience, and I realized that others could benefit from doing the same—falling back in love with who they are in their purest and most authentic form. That became the heartbeat of Sacred Serenity.
At the same time, I was also starting my loc journey, which further deepened my awareness of what I was putting on and in my body. I wanted products that aligned with the self-love I was cultivating—wholesome, intentional, and non-toxic. That’s when I began creating products with natural, nourishing ingredients, not just for myself but for others who desired the same.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Jasmine Hough, and I’m the founder of Sacred Serenity, a self-care and holistic wellness brand that focuses on creating plant-based, non-toxic products for hair, skin, and overall wellness. My background is in health sciences, and I’ve always been a “science buff,” as my grandmother would say, with a passion for helping others. My love for research, combined with a natural gift for pouring into others, inspired me to create Sacred Serenity.
I started my brand because I saw a need for products that truly addressed the unique challenges faced by Black women, such as hair loss, dry skin, and other concerns. Hair and skin are so much more than physical features—they’re deeply tied to our spirit, our confidence, and our sense of self. When we look good, we feel good, and that energy radiates in everything we do. Sacred Serenity was created to be more than just a beauty brand; it’s a movement to help people reconnect with themselves, restore their confidence, and feel empowered in their skin.
Our product line includes hair care, skincare, and self-care essentials such as our herbal hair growth oils, body butters, natural soaps, and scrubs. Everything is made with natural, wholesome ingredients that not only nourish your body but also provide an opportunity to pour into yourself. Whether it’s a scalp massage with our hair growth oil to promote circulation and a healthy scalp environment or a relaxing bath with our soothing soaps, Sacred Serenity products are designed to encourage rest, rejuvenation, and connection to self.
What sets Sacred Serenity apart is the depth of our mission. We’re not just about selling products—we’re about creating a community. Sacred Serenity is a safe space for healing, learning, and growth. My vision is to expand beyond products into offering workshops and wellness experiences where people can come together to nurture their body, mind, and spirit. I want to build a space where people leave feeling renewed, inspired, and empowered to show up as their best selves.
One of the things I’m most proud of is my perseverance. Sacred Serenity wasn’t my first business—I’ve had other ventures that didn’t succeed. But every setback taught me valuable lessons that have shaped who I am and what my business stands for today. My own transformation—learning to love myself and embrace my journey—is what fuels Sacred Serenity’s purpose. I’m walking this path alongside my clients, and it’s a privilege to be able to share what I’ve learned to help others transform their lives.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to grow Sacred Serenity into a household name for holistic wellness. From expanding our product line to include herbal teas, tinctures, and even natural household essentials to hosting workshops that provide a full 360-body experience, my goal is to touch as many lives as possible.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building my audience on social media has been a journey, and I’m still growing. The key for me has been clarity—knowing what my brand stands for, what value I bring, and who my ideal audience is. I’ve focused on creating content that speaks directly to my audience by addressing their pain points, educating, inspiring, or simply connecting on a personal level.
For anyone starting out, my advice is:
1. Know your audience inside and out—what they need, value, and care about.
2. Focus on quality over quantity. Meaningful posts matter more than frequent ones.
3. Be authentic—people connect with your story, not just your product.
4. Be consistent and patient. Growth takes time, but every day is a new chance to connect.
For me, it’s not just about gaining followers—it’s about building a community that aligns with my mission
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
For me, the two best sources of new clients have been pop-up events and networking.
Pop-up events have been amazing for building connections and showcasing my products. While they can be labor-intensive to manage alongside my full-time job, the in-person experience is worth it. My products speak for themselves, but what makes the biggest impact is the personal connection I create with people. I bring good energy, inspiration, and encouragement to prioritize self-love and wellness. People connect with my story, feel my passion, and often become loyal, returning customers who also engage with me on social media.
Networking has also played a major role in growing my business. I’ve found that simply being in the right spaces, meeting people, and naturally sharing my vision and what I’m working on opens doors. I don’t approach conversations to sell—I share my passion, and people are drawn to the purpose behind Sacred Serenity.
Soon, I’ll be opening my first storefront, which will create even more opportunities for in-person connection. I envision it as a space where people can shop, talk, and vibe—a place for community, healing, and inspiration.
