We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jasmine Harris. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jasmine below.
Jasmine, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project was my first collection, Y|24 Collective. It represents the birth of me as an artist and the moment I began to truly understand my voice and purpose through creation. Each vessel in this collection holds deep personal significance. I named every piece intentionally, allowing each design to express a fragment of who I am. Whether it reflected my growth, faith, or emotional journey, every name carried meaning and emotion that I hoped would translate to whoever experienced it. This collection became more than art; it became a form of storytelling, and an intimate introduction to myself through the language of design.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Jasmine Harris, and I am the founder and artist behind The Pearl Center, a brand dedicated to creating luxury handcrafted pearl vessels and other curated custom designs that embody individuality, emotion, and faith. My journey into this craft began as an extension of self-discovery and desire to express my personal evolution through something tangible, beautiful, and spiritually meaningful.
I’ve always been a creative at heart. Over time, that creativity evolved from curiosity into purpose. The Pearl Center was born out of a need to slow down, reconnect with myself, and create pieces that speak from the soul. My first collection, Y|24, marked the true beginning of that journey. It was more than a collection it was a reflection of my rebirth as an artist. Each vase was named intentionally to represent a piece of me, my emotions, and the lessons God was teaching me during that season of my life. I wanted every admirer or collector to not just see a beautiful design, but to feel the story behind it.
What sets The Pearl Center apart is the intentionality woven into every creation. My designs are not mass-produced they are carefully handcrafted and spiritually inspired. Each vessel is unique, layered with textures, ropes, pearls, and patterns that tell a story. I see my work as a blend of art and storytelling, meant to connect deeply with those who appreciate authenticity, meaning, and elegance.
Beyond the artistry, The Pearl Center also stands for balance, rest, and renewal. I follow a 3-on, 1-off creative cycle three months of production, followed by one month of rest and reflection. This rhythm allows me to remain grounded, inspired, and fully present in my work. It’s a practice that honors both my creative process and my mental and spiritual well-being.
I’m most proud of the emotional and spiritual connection people feel when they encounter my work. Collectors and admirers often share how the symbolism behind each vase resonates with their own life stories and that, to me, is the greatest reward.
Ultimately, I want people to know that The Pearl Center isn’t just about vases it’s about meaning, faith, and artistry. Every piece tells a story, every name has purpose, and every design reflects a journey of growth, grace, and identity.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Trust the Pivot!
For a long time, I found comfort in staying where things felt safe and predictable. I excelled in my roles, traveling the world for work, navigating corporate spaces, mastering every task placed in front of me. But deep down, I knew something was missing. Fulfillment. Purpose. Alignment.
It wasn’t until I allowed myself to pivot, to step away from what was familiar and into the unknown; that I discovered who I truly was becoming. Growth doesn’t happen in comfort; it happens in the stretch, in the uncertainty, in the moments that challenge everything we’ve been conditioned to believe about success.
So trust the pivot. It’s not the end of where you were, it’s the beginning of who you’re meant to be.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
You have everything you need within arm’s reach. I used to chase perfection, not realizing how heavy that pursuit could become. All I had to do was ask. As someone learning to overcome hyper-independence, I spent so long believing I had to do everything on my own. But what a beautiful surprise it was to discover the support waiting for me once I opened up. Now, I remind myself less is more, don’t overthink it, and it’s okay to ask for help.
