Hi Jasmine, thanks for joining us today. Do you take vacations? Why or why not?
Of course, I take vacations. I feel like as a business owner you have to step away to give yourself a peace of mind. Even when I take vacations someway I incorporate my business whether it’s a quick picture or short video advertising some of my products. You have to remember you have to provide yourself with some self care to refresh your mind three days or a week won’t hurt.

Jasmine, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Jasmine Hamilton, I’m based out of Kansas City, Missouri and I’m the owner of Extravagant Lashes & Glasses by Jayy/Be Extravagant LLC. I launched my business in March 2020, right when the world shut down due to covid. Some weeks prior I ordered some eyelashes so I could practice applying them on myself, but once we were confide in our homes I turned it into a business. So I thought to myself what else do people look for thats when sunglasses came apart of my business.
From there I wanted to make my business everything about your face, so I started my lip gloss and lip stain line. At this very moment my company offers eyelashes (regular and 25 mm), sunglasses (men, women, and children), lip gloss (over 40 flavors), lip stain (regular and matte), and I have more in the works this upcoming summer. I feel like my lip gloss/lip stain is one of a kind it’s hydrating, smooth consistency, flavorful, high pigmentation, long lasting, not to mention it comes with a LED light and mirror.
I attend a lot of events to sell my products here in my city and I also travel to events out of state. I interact with my customers and my potential customers. I ask them what is it that they look for in a product, I also ask that if there is anything in particular that they are looking for, and most importantly I want their feedback. I allow my customers to express themselves and I take their feedback and I put it into my products.
What I want my customers and potential customers to know is that I listen to what they tell me and I make sure I come correct the next time I interact with them. I stand behind my products 100% and i do not give less than that. I’m very appreciative, because without them I wouldn’t have made it this far. Their kind words, acts of kindness, loyalty, and support is what keeps me going..

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is going to vendor events and speaking to customers. Someone is always going on vacation so they need sunglasses maybe not only for themself but for their family and friends. Making sure I have QR codes available to my business social sites so they can follow new inventory, upcoming sells, or my next vendor event for them to shop. Last but not least word of mouth has gotten me far as well.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes, my side hustle turned into my full time business. I purchased eyelashes to learn how to apply them on myself. Once the pandemic started and all the stores closed down I took it upon myself to start selling them, because at that time I had became unemployed. I didn’t think that it would take off the way that it did, but once I started I fell in love and I became Extravagant Lashes. As time went by I started adding on to my business and thats where I’m at today with the products that I have now. Some of my milestones was being able to provide some celebrities with gift baskets with items from my business as gift to them.
