We recently connected with Jasmine Guerrero and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jasmine thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I started my business in Okinawa, Japan while my husband was stationed overseas. It was out first time moving to another country and we did so weeks after our wedding. Trying to adapt to a whole new environment was hard for me since I had never been away from family before. My husband was established in his work, made friends, and traveled. I on the other hand, was still figuring it out. A few months into living in Japan, I got pregnant. After having our babygirl, I found myself wanting something more for myself. Something to get us out of the house more. I decided to take interest in photography and learn it to create a hobby for myself. I bought my first camera, I purchased my first preset pack, and I RAN! I started doing portrait sessions and found a passion in the art I created. It made me feel so good seeing photos I’ve taken set as profile pictures, or better yet, on their family wall! 4 years later I am now taking on weddings stateside and I absolutely love what I do!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a military spouse with two beautiful children! Due to the military live I have done my business successfully in Japan, and now stateside (Idaho + California). After 4 years of growing and learning, I now offer a mentorship program to assist other photographers on their journey. I am also learning Super 8 Film and Digital Videography as well.
Someone asked me once, how do you run your business successfully with two kids? That is probably the one thing I am most proud of. Seeing my business grow every day and being a mom.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
CRM! Setting that Client Relationship Management is so important! I constantly send out batch emails to past clients to let them know I’m still here!
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Consistency is KEY! Continue to create content (even if it’s free), continue to learn new things (even if it may be out of your comfort zone), continue to love what you do! My clients are my friends and they know that from the moment we speak. Give your clients the best experience, because word of mouth is so important.
