We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jasmine Charbonier. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jasmine below.
Jasmine, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I’ve always loved being creative, and for years, I worked a corporate job in New York City that I liked at first. But over time, being micromanaged made it hard for me to grow and be myself.
The job paid the bills, but it didn’t make me happy. I was chasing someone else’s idea of success—working long hours and hiding my creative side. One of the biggest challenges I faced was overcoming my own imposter syndrome. I had to confront my limiting belief that I wasn’t “qualified enough” to create digital marketing strategies through content for myself and others.
I wanted to help people convey their authentic self online and serve others using my creativity and ideas, but fear stopped me.
Fear of failing, fear of what others would think, and the belief that I wasn’t good enough to go after what I wanted.
After the pandemic in 2020, I realized I needed a big change. Within two months, we packed up, left our friends and family behind, and moved to Tampa. It was a leap of faith, but we haven’t looked back since.
I started creating content, building a network of like-minded creatives, and working on my own brand. It hasn’t been perfect, but being able to create something authentically me has been incredibly fulfilling. My life is proof that taking risks and embracing change can lead to amazing things.
I’ve built a purpose-driven professional identity, one that aligns with my inner values and allows me to live a life of intentional creativity. My journey wasn’t about finding a perfect path—it was about courageously creating one that reflected my purpose.
Jasmine, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My journey started with my own struggles. As a teenager and later in college, I felt lost and used alcohol to cope. It took years of therapy and hard work to realize alcohol was holding me back. When I got sober, my purpose became clear.
I’ve had jobs I liked, but I always felt stuck and unable to make the impact I wanted. I realized I wasn’t meant just to climb the corporate ladder—I was meant to help others grow, succeed, and believe in themselves. That’s when I decided to start my own business, combining my love for creativity, storytelling, and helping people.
Today, I do two main things:
1. As a Mindset Coach, I help people overcome self-doubt, build confidence, and take bold steps toward their goals. Whether it’s fear of putting themselves out there or feeling stuck, I help them unlock their potential.
2. As a Creative Marketing Strategist, I help businesses, nonprofits, and personal brands tell their stories in a way that connects with people. I help them stand out and build real relationships with their audience.
What makes me different is that I’ve been where my clients are. I know what it’s like to feel afraid or stuck and how to move past it. My approach is all about being real and kind and giving practical steps to help people succeed.
I’m most proud of seeing my clients and friends transform—from hiding their talents to sharing them with the world, from doubting themselves to building businesses and brands they love. It’s amazing to watch them create lives they’re proud of.
If you’re ready to let go of self-doubt, embrace your creativity, and build something meaningful, I’d love to help. Let’s create something amazing together!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Since moving to Tampa, I’ve grown my audience to over 30k across social media. When I first got here, I didn’t know anyone, so content creators, bloggers, and business owners became my connection to this city. I’ve always loved food, beauty, and travel, so I started sharing those things online. I didn’t let fear stop me—even when people left rude comments or called me names, I kept being myself.
I started by sharing my favorite Tampa food spots. I didn’t overthink it—I just posted what I loved. Over time, I found a community that loved the same things. Being myself and telling stories about the food and places I visited helped me connect with others. Now, I get invited to events and have made great friends through social media.
1. Post consistently. I know everyone says this, but how can you get better without repetition? Also, accounts that post 3-5 times a week grow faster. You can start small, but please be sure to stay consistent.
2. Share what you love. In a world with so much Artificial Intelligence, people are looking for ways to connect and relate to each other. Plus, posts with personal stories get 30% more engagement.
3. Use good photos and videos. Posts with visuals get 50% more shares. You don’t need fancy equipment—just good lighting and a clean shot.
4. Engage with others. Reply to comments and messages with thoughtful responses. Accounts that engage grow 2x faster.
5. Be patient. It takes time to build an audience. Most accounts don’t see big growth until 6-12 months in. Sometimes, a bit longer.
Bonus Tip: There’s a rule called the 10,000-Hour Rule. It says you need to practice something for 10,000 hours to become an expert. Are you ready to put in the time?
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I started content creation with no plan and learned as I went. I made mistakes, like reaching out to brands and getting ignored or giving away videos worth thousands of dollars for free.
Now I know there are tools and resources to help. You can save time by paying for help or save money by doing your own research.
Some of my favorite resources:
1. Canva for easy design and Unsplash for free photos.
2. YouTube channels like Later or HubSpot for social media tips.
3. Facebook groups or local meetups to connect with other creators or creatives.
4. Books like Big Magic for creativity and Atomic Habits for building good habits.
5. Online courses on Skillshare or Udemy to learn new skills.
These tools would’ve helped me a lot earlier. If you’re starting out, check them out!
