Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jasmine Bradfield . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jasmine thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Taking a risk. If you are familiar with maternal health care in Ga, then you know there is a touchy relationship between industrial practices and holistic and/or holistic care. Although I have seen the cup half full for both sides, my practice is centered around the traditions and holistic care of whole woman wellness.
Jasmine , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Sure, I am, in short, a women’s wellness specialist. I am a certified doula and yoga instructor, traditional midwife and ethno-herbalist., I have work in this realm of work for the last ten years and collected both holistic and medical certifications on the way to hone in on the practice I now call Atlanta Birthwork. Atlanta Birthwork is both an online platform and a collective of birthworkers services the community.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Yes. I was always on the hunt for what my purpose was going to be and in ways I still am. I think that’s what I love most about what I do; the ability to remain a student. As I master subject, i find myself at the tip of a new question, I love that. I wish i knew earlier what I would be becoming so I could start the same quest earlier, lol.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Stability. I was taught a very liner way of living, which would in turn reward me with stability. Those foundations still stick to my core but I had to unlearn what that meant for me. I am a very dance-to-your-own-beat kinda person so that’s is where I am stable. That doesn’t alway look like what other know to be the path, however it’s the only way I can get where I’m going,
