We were lucky to catch up with Jasmine Beck recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jasmine thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
Coral Castle Cattery began with a problem I never thought could be solved: I was allergic to cats.
I had loved animals my entire life, but like many people with allergies, I assumed cat ownership simply wasn’t an option for me. Then I discovered Siberian cats, a breed known for producing significantly lower levels of the allergen that affects many cat allergy sufferers. For the first time in my life, I was able to live comfortably with cats, and it completely changed my world.
What started as gratitude quickly turned into curiosity. I spent countless hours researching the breed, learning about genetics, health testing, pedigrees, nutrition, temperament, and responsible breeding practices. The more I learned, the more I realized that ethical breeding is equal parts science, education, and love.
As my passion grew, my mother, Dr. Susan Vezeau, and I began discussing the possibility of creating a cattery together. We wanted to do more than simply breed cats. We wanted to help other families, especially those who believed allergies would prevent them from ever experiencing the joy of cat ownership.
The idea phase lasted much longer than most people realize. Before a single kitten was born, we spent months researching bloodlines, connecting with respected breeders, studying breed standards, and building relationships within the Siberian cat community. We carefully selected our foundation cats, completed extensive health testing, and created a home environment designed to raise confident, well-socialized kittens.
Once the cats arrived, the learning curve accelerated. Every stage required thoughtful planning, from veterinary care and nutrition protocols to record keeping, contracts, and educating future owners. We wanted to ensure that every decision reflected our commitment to the health and wellbeing of both our cats and the families who would welcome them home.
When our first litter finally arrived, it felt surreal. Years of research, preparation, and anticipation suddenly became tiny kittens exploring the world one pawstep at a time. Watching families meet their kittens and hearing from allergy sufferers who thought they could never have a cat of their own confirmed that we were doing exactly what we were meant to do.
Today, Coral Castle Cattery is still guided by the same mission that inspired it from the beginning: helping people experience the companionship of an extraordinary breed while raising healthy, loving Siberian cats with the highest standards of care. What began as a personal solution to my own allergies has grown into a passion-driven business that connects families with feline companions they may never have thought possible.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Jasmine Beck, co-owner of Coral Castle Cattery, a boutique Siberian cat cattery dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized, and loving companions for families across the country. Alongside my mother, Dr. Susan Vezeau, I have built Coral Castle around a simple mission: helping people experience the joy of cat ownership, especially those who may have believed allergies would prevent them from ever having a feline companion.
My journey into the world of Siberian cats began from a very personal place. Like many allergy sufferers, I spent much of my life assuming I could never comfortably live with cats. When I discovered the Siberian breed and learned about its lower allergen levels, everything changed. For the first time, I was able to enjoy the companionship of cats without the challenges I had always experienced. That discovery sparked a passion that quickly grew into years of research, education, and eventually the creation of Coral Castle Cattery.
Today, we specialize in breeding exceptional Siberian cats known for their intelligence, affectionate personalities, beauty, and hypoallergenic qualities. Our kittens are raised in a loving home environment where they receive constant socialization, enrichment, and individualized attention from the day they are born. We believe that raising remarkable kittens involves much more than genetics. It requires dedication, education, and a genuine commitment to each kitten’s physical and emotional development.
One of the biggest problems we solve for our clients is helping families who have previously been told they cannot own cats due to allergies. While no cat is completely hypoallergenic, many of our families have successfully welcomed Siberians into their homes after years of believing cat ownership was impossible. There is nothing more rewarding than hearing from someone who thought they would never be able to cuddle a cat, only to find themselves falling in love with one of our kittens.
What sets Coral Castle apart is our deeply personal approach. We are not simply matching kittens with buyers; we are helping families find lifelong companions. We spend significant time educating prospective owners, answering questions, and ensuring each kitten is placed in the right home. Our goal is to build lasting relationships with our families, many of whom stay in touch for years after bringing their kittens home.
I am most proud of the trust our families place in us and the community we have built around our cattery. Watching our kittens grow into beloved members of their families and receiving updates, photos, and stories over the years is incredibly rewarding. Every kitten represents countless hours of care, planning, and love, and it is a privilege to play a role in bringing that joy into someone’s life.
If there is one thing I hope people take away about Coral Castle Cattery, it is that our work is driven by passion, purpose, and a genuine love for this extraordinary breed. We are committed to raising healthy, confident, and affectionate Siberian cats while providing an exceptional experience for every family we serve. For us, this has never been just about breeding cats. It is about creating connections, changing lives, and sharing the same joy that Siberians brought into ours.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe our reputation has been built one family and one kitten at a time.
From the beginning, our focus has never been on producing a large number of kittens. Instead, we have prioritized raising exceptionally well-socialized, healthy, and loving Siberians while creating a positive experience for every family we work with. When people bring home one of our kittens, they quickly become part of the Coral Castle family, and that relationship often continues for years through updates, photos, questions, and shared milestones.
Word of mouth has been one of the most powerful factors in our growth. Happy families naturally share their experiences with friends, relatives, coworkers, and online communities. There is no greater compliment than having someone recommend us because of the positive experience they had with one of our cats.
Social media has also played an important role in building trust and transparency. It allows prospective families to follow our kittens as they grow, see how they are raised, and get a genuine glimpse into daily life at Coral Castle Cattery. Rather than simply showcasing beautiful cats, we enjoy sharing their personalities, development, and the care that goes into raising them.
I also believe our emphasis on socialization has contributed significantly to our reputation. Our kittens are raised in our home and receive constant interaction, enrichment, and affection from the moment they are born. We invest a tremendous amount of time helping them become confident, curious, and well-adjusted companions. Families frequently tell us how surprised they are by how quickly their kittens adapt to new environments and bond with their people.
Most importantly, I think our reputation comes from genuinely caring about both the cats and the families who welcome them into their homes. We are passionate about this breed, committed to ethical breeding practices, and dedicated to providing lifelong support to our kitten families. When people see that level of care and commitment, they remember it, and they share it with others.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One experience that truly tested my resilience came early in my journey as a breeder when I faced a health challenge within my cattery. Any breeder who works with animals long enough will eventually encounter illness, and when it happens, it can be both emotionally and physically exhausting. Seeing kittens that depend on you potentially become sick is heartbreaking, and it reinforces just how much responsibility comes with caring for them.
That experience pushed me to learn as much as I possibly could about feline health, disease prevention, and environmental management. I immersed myself in education, consulted with veterinarians, researched best practices, and developed a much deeper understanding of how to create and maintain the healthiest possible environment for my cats and kittens.
As a result, I implemented rigorous sanitation protocols, strengthened preventative health measures, and became even more proactive in monitoring the well-being of every cat in my care. What could have been a discouraging setback ultimately became an opportunity for growth and improvement.
The experience taught me that resilience is not about avoiding challenges—it is about responding to them with determination, education, and a commitment to doing better. Every obstacle has made me a more knowledgeable breeder and a stronger advocate for the health of my cats. Today, the lessons I learned continue to shape the way I operate my cattery, helping me provide the safest, healthiest environment possible for every kitten and family I serve.
