Hi Jasmine , thanks for joining us today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you as a business owner?
Working in corporate my entire professional career has taught me that “business is business.” And although that statement seems simple and cliché, it’s very true… In all of my career, I’ve always had numerous side hustles. Firstly, as a Black woman I have to make up for the wage gap that bestows upon us. But secondly & most importantly because I am a business and business is business! The show must and will continue to go on.

My name is Jasmine Anderson, I am a travel agent and lifestyle influencer.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Networking has always been vital to my career and journey as an entrepreneur. I am a walking billboard of my brand, especially as a traveling travel agent. I never know who could be my next client or connection.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the “hustle 24/7” mentality. I thought the busier I was, the more productive I was. But honestly being busy does not always result in being productive. I would find myself spending time on ventures and in spaces that did not contribute to my ‘bigger picture.’ I had to learn to work SMARTER not HARDER. Now I value my time and balance in my work/personal life. I know when to turn work off and relax. I cannot give my best self in my work if I am mentally drained.
