Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jasmine Anderson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jasmine thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?
I have considered myself a creator for six years now. However, the journey has not always been easy. Being a creator takes a lot of patience, time, and hard work. I can honestly say the very first time I earned my very first dollar I felt extremely proud, happy and excited. My very first revenue came from YouTube. At the time I became monetized the process to get there was very challenging. You had to have 1,000 subscribers and 10,000 watch hours. I thought I was never going to get there because a lot of my content got very little views. No matter the views I still kept pushing and didn’t give up. One morning in the summer of 2019 I woke up to a very exciting email from YouTube. The email stated that I met the requirements and they will be in touch as soon as my account has been reviewed. A few days passed and I received an official email stated that my account has been approved for monetization. I was so excited that I could cry. I started my YouTube all alone and did everything by myself. It was a lot of hard work, late nights and true dedication that had soon paid off. I honestly still have a lot of work to do today to truly get to where I want. No matter the circumstances every day is a learning lesson and I keep pushing forward and chasing my dreams!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
First and foremost my name is Jasmine and I am extremely hard working, loyal, caring, goal oriented, driven and extremely passionate about creating the life that I have always wanted for myself. The idea of me becoming a YouTuber came from an old friend who thought I would be great at it. I gave it some thought and decided to give it a try. I started out as just a YouTuber. However, as the years have progressed I truly consider myself a public Figure/Creator. I enjoy being in front of a camera not only to be seen but to be heard, to entertain and to speak about certain topics that some may consider uncomfortable. I would honestly say what sets me apart from others is that I am and will always be my true authentic self no matter the circumstances. One thing that I can say that I am most proud of is that I always go for what I want and don’t stop until I make it happen. The main thing I would love for my potential followers to know about me is that I always strive to be better and chase my goals while remaining true to my authentic self. I will forever want to set an example for my supporters to always be true to their authentic self.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creator to me would be the feeling and the greatness of being able to express yourself freely through one or multiple lenses.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building an audience is not always easy. However, you can make it very fun and rewarding. When I first started my channel I did the very basic thing that anyone would probably do. I created my very first video and I sent a text to almost everyone in my contacts asking them to subscribe to my YouTube. I also shared my YouTube channel and videos on all of my social media platforms. Sometimes it did get quiet overwhelming as I thought I was bothering people are getting on people’s nerves. One thing I will say is during the process you quickly start to learn who may be envious and who is truly supportive. No matter what do what your heart tells you to get your name and yourself out there.
