We were lucky to catch up with Jasmin Hajian recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jasmin , appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
At F45 West LA, our mission is to foster a vibrant community where we uplift and motivate one another to become the best versions of ourselves.
Fitness is a personal journey, and we believe it should be tailored to what works best for you. One undeniable truth is that everyone needs support, and we strive to be that support for everyone who walks through our doors.
Our journey begins with our coaches. As someone immersed in the fitness industry, I understand the aspiration to grow and succeed. I’m committed to helping our coaches achieve their goals, knowing that their eventual growth may lead them to new opportunities. While that means they may leave us one day, it’s a testament to their success. Our coaches dedicate themselves to uplifting others, and they deserve the same in return. At F45 West LA, I am dedicated to providing resources that empower our coaches to hone their skills and confidently advance their careers.
Next, let’s talk about our members—the heartbeat of our community. I look forward to seeing familiar faces 3-5 times a week, and sometimes every day. They inspire me to grow as a trainer and as a person. My goal is to motivate as many individuals as possible to embrace a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle. Beyond that, the gym serves as a sanctuary—a space to release stress and focus solely on oneself for 45 minutes to an hour, dedicated to becoming healthier and more confident.
Lastly, the community aspect is vital. In a city as vast as Los Angeles, finding your tribe can be challenging. That’s why I emphasize community so strongly. No one should ever feel alone, regardless of their circumstances. F45 West LA is a welcoming space for everyone, encouraging collaboration and support as we strive toward something greater while prioritizing our individual journeys. Here, you can leave knowing that you’ve contributed to someone else’s transformation while enhancing your own.
F45 West LA is out home and we are each other’s family.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m a 25-year-old fitness trainer raised by two incredible entrepreneurial parents and a passionate brother. Throughout my life, I was always active—playing basketball, volleyball, and cheering. Initially, I thought my passion lay in the creative realm of photography or film. Despite my athletic background, I struggled with being overweight for much of my life. It wasn’t until college that I began regularly hitting the gym outside of my team practices and started shedding those extra pounds.
While I was thrilled with my weight loss, the real joy came from discovering my love for fitness. I’ve always enjoyed being part of a team, but I had no idea how much I would thrive in a gym setting.
Graduating during the peak of COVID-19 opened up a new direction for my career. With the film industry in turmoil, I pivoted to fitness and began helping others on their fitness journeys. I pursued my personal training certification and gained experience at various gyms, which ultimately led me to F45. Over the past three years as a coach, I’ve built an amazing community that I cherish deeply. It was during this time that my mom recognized my passion and encouraged me to open my own franchise.
Now, after two years of hard work and dedication, I’m thrilled to announce the opening of our F45 franchise as a family venture. I feel incredibly grateful for my career and fortunate to have found something I truly love. Nothing brings me greater happiness than making my parents proud and paving a path for myself that allows me to give back to them for all the support and love they’ve provided throughout my life.
We are excited to introduce you to F45 West LA, opening in October 2024! With our functional circuit-style workouts, F45 is designed to support a diverse range of individuals on their fitness journeys.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I have built reputation as a trainer that pushing every member to do they best in every class. Of course there are many many trainers out there that do all the right things but still can’t build that same reputation and that is because they are missing what is truly important.
It is important to keep in mind that people have all the resources they need achieve their goals without a trainer and the reason that they need one or want one is to feel truly motivated and inspired.
I am someone that Is truly passionate about my job but above that I genuinely care about seeing my members improve. I get so happy seeing someone lift something they never thought they could or achieve a new skill like a box jump. And those are things that you can’t fake. Yes every coach is able to show enthusiasm but deep desire for success for the clients is not something that can be learned.
Those are the things that make the members feel excited to come back every day. Those are the moments that allow members to feel like they are not alone.
Fitness is not an easy thing to add into someone’s life and they don’t have someone that genuinely wants the best for them their self motivation might not be enough.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
“7 Habits of Highly Effective People”
I was never one to sit and read a book but this book got me going. In the years and years of school I never finished a book cover to cover until I read this book.
It allowed me to see life in a different perspective. It didn’t necessarily change the way I thought but it allowed me to truly understand what I did and why the things I already do or should start doing are important. It gave me a chance to think about how I wanted to be as someone taking on a leadership role. While I knew what type of person I wanted to be and what I wanted out of life, being able to put it into words is a very different experience.
A quote form that book: “the enemy of the best is the good”
