We were lucky to catch up with Jasmin Galloway recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I knew that I would be forty soon and I was searching for my purpose in life in 2021. I already have the gift of inspiring others to live out their full potential and I motivate others naturally, but there was something else calling my name . Growing up people would compliment my skin and I would make my own skincare products. I never thought anything of it . Then I heard one say , every millionaire filled a need . So I said to myself how can I help and inspire others to achieve beautiful and healthy skin and on top of that inspire anyone starting a business late in life that you could be forty ( my age ) and do it too ! So that’s where forty -too came from . I often get the questions on why forty-too is spelled like that or what does it mean , and I love breaking it down to others and inspiring them as well .

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a mother of four. The ages of my children are 21,19,18 and 16 . I have a Master’s Degree in Healthcare and I also hold an Administrator’s License. I feel like you never work the job you went to school for and that is funny to me . I’ve always had a love for healthcare being that I watched my parents die at a young age because of health complications and I always wanted to know more about the body . I will never shy away from the healthcare industry. I actually have plans on using that in my skincare business plan in some fashion . It is crazy how our skin works and how we have to work it . I am proud of myself for creating a product that works and I can’t wait for the world to catch on . My brand is different from others because of my thought process . You want to create something of value and always make your experience with your customer rememberable. If the customer doesn’t remember anything else from their experience with forty-too , they will remember how the product made their skin feel and I’m going for just that ! People pay for things of value .

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My energy . If you aren’t excited about your product then no one else will be either . I had to push through the bad times to get to where I am now . It makes me feel good when I am recognized in public for my amazing skincare products and for that , I will never stop creating . Some of my customers stopped by my vendor tables or seen a video I posted on social media and have messaged me and said it was your energy that attracted them to me and the products .
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I funded my business using my own money . As I am two years in the business , I have learned so much about loans, grants and other funding opportunities . Due to the lack of knowledge in starting a business , I made a lot of mistakes along the way . I am taking classes on how to get access to funding and I hope to obtain those opportunities in the near future .
