We were lucky to catch up with Jasma Starks recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jasma , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success is a multifaceted concept, and its definition varies from one individual to another. It’s not a handout, but a result of hard work, dedication, and a clear vision. The depth of one’s ambition often determines the goals one sets, shaping the path to success. My spiritual foundation is crucial to my success. I trust God as my source in all things. He is the CEO of every business endeavor and paves the way for wisdom and clarity. My success comes from being a student of the Bible. Studying, living, and speaking the Word of God has completely transformed my life. Prayer has been my answer to unlocking the door of success. It’s in prayer that strategies are downloaded and nurtured to life. I would also say an antidote for success would be to master your niche. Understanding your lane and the gifts you carry allows you to build your table of success. Mastering my niche is essential. It establishes expertise and credibility. If I am the expert in my lane. I have the solution to many problems. Furthermore, intentionality is a strategy and approach to propel business growth. I’ve come to understand the power of intentionality in nurturing the aspects of life I desire to flourish—it’s a driving force behind success. Moreover, building connections with the right people can serve as a bridge between vision and opportunity. We cannot navigate life in isolation; I continually pray that God provides not just the connections that will bless me but also those through which I can be a blessing to others.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Jasma, your prophetic writing coach and the founder of Scribe Empire. My mission is to guide individuals through the process of writing and publishing their books. Furthermore, I mentor aspiring writing coaches and publishers on how to establish their businesses. My writing journey began a decade ago. After publishing my first book, I felt a tremendous sense of accomplishment—it was as if I had unlocked a new realm of possibilities. Although my passion for writing increased, my most effective writing moments occurred during prayer, fasting, and seeking guidance from God. Writing became a avenue through which God showed me a greater purpose, and it played a pivotal role in overcoming challenges, including financial ones.
Witnessing the transformative power of writing and publishing inspired me to help others embark on this journey. My heart desires to assist others in crafting books that echo with God’s message. My vision is to build a legacy of writers, create an empire for authors, and establish a hub of Kingdom resources that will profoundly impact every reader. As a coach, I work closely with individuals, guiding them on how to write divinely inspired books and discern God’s voice in their writing. I offer prayers, share prophecies, and fast with those seeking spiritual breakthroughs. My coaching approach, deeply rooted in my faith, distinguishes me from others. Above all, my primary aim is to glorify God and lift up the name of Jesus. I’m blessed with a gift to see and produce books, but seeing my clients commit to the journey fills my heart with pride. Writing and publishing require unwavering commitment, but once that commitment is made, the anointing to finish is activated.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My most effective strategy for expanding clientele is word of mouth. The testimonials of satisfied clients often lead others to seek my services. I frequently receive messages and emails mentioning referrals from past clients. Once, I work with a client, our partnership last for years. I not only do business, but I build authentic relationships. Another significant strategy is social media. Embracing visibility and actively promoting my brand ensures that anyone interacting with me recognizes my passion for books and my dedication to assisting others in their writing and publishing journey.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Absolutely! While I’ve read countless books, it’s the Bible that consistently resonates with me. Its revelations and insights are exceptional, guiding every facet of my entrepreneurial journey and philosophy. Of course, my formal education – a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degree – has instilled in me the value of continuous learning. I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and enjoy exploring diverse subjects when it comes to the Word of God. A tour of my home library would reveal an extensive collection on topics like prayer, deliverance, spiritual gifts, the prophetic, and writing resources, among others. Reading truly enlightens my mind. And Proverbs 16:3 perfectly captures my philosophy: “Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established.”
