We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jasie Kelch. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jasie below.
Jasie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I’ve known since a very young age that creativity was something I desired to do on a professional level. I used to sit for hours as a child; writing stories, drawing clothing, and fantasizing about people seeing my work one day. Creativity has always been an escape for me through my toughest times. Using my creative brain is therapeutic for me and has led to some amazing opportunities over the years.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I began in the fashion industry as a model. I was chosen at eighteen years old from a lineup of women (unbeknownst to me that I was even an option) to do a test shoot for a photographer. From there – I began networking in the industry and have been fortunate enough to produce multiple fashion shows, host two radio shows, produce music videos, cast music videos, and so much more. Modeling was just the conversation starter a lot of the times and I’ve been able to open doors for not only myself – but others as well throughout my modeling career, thus far. The one thing I’m MOST proud of within my realm of the industry is being able to see the people I’ve mentored, given opportunities to, and given guidance to pursue their OWN passions and elevate themselves. Knowing you’ve helped someone is the most gratifying thing about the work I’ve done.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the lessons I had to unlearn very early is that I thought I knew everything when I first began modeling. I was extremely stubborn and heard-headed and wouldn’t accept advice. As I’ve gotten older and after eight years of modeling the biggest lesson I’ve learned is: TAKE THE ADVICE! Learn from somebody who’s been in the industry longer or in spaces you’d like to see yourself. My motto is: the more you know – the more you don’t know. So, always continue learning and perfecting your craft.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The biggest mission driving my creative journey is to help as many people as I can. Others helped me and continue to help me on my journey. I always try to help others as much as I can because that’s what life is all about. If you have knowledge the best thing you can ever do is share it with someone else.
