We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jascha Coles a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jascha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
My business, Lifestyle227, is something that will be very special to me. The name comes from the things I believe in. The “227” breaks down with “222” being a significant number that has shown up a lot when I was doing business a few years ago. It was during a time where I was able to do things I didn’t think that I would ever do when it came to business. The number “27” holds a special place in my heart because it was a number that represented the enormous amount of love I would give and except from people and whenever it would show up in my life, it always brought a happy vibration over me. Essentially, the idea behind Lifestyle227, is creating a “lifestyle” where business and love can co-exist while still being successful in what I do.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started in the digital business industry back in 2019 when I was learning to trade in the Foreign Exchange market and progressed to help others learn as well. I was able to create a team of over 100 people that me and other top leaders were able to teach as well. This was probably the most uncomfortable thing I had done at the time but it was also the most ‘good’ change I experienced. With me being only 19 at the time, I can look back and say that I was fortunate to learn the things I did about the market, business, people, and just being in the right place at the right time.
Now at the age of 22, I am still able to use my skills in the workplace along with my new business that is launching. I was able to build amazing connections with people that I still have years later, which makes being in the same industry a lot easier. I currently have a website that I just published about a few weeks ago where I sell products that can be used in your home. A lot is home decor, but I will be adding more products that help with the small problems that we may have in our homes. Or simply just things we can use to make our home-time easier. This website is just the stepping stone to the bigger things that are soon to come. So definitely stay tuned for more.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Actually, not too long ago, I’ve had to make a pivot in my life. It was about the middle of 2021 where I was doing good but not good enough for where I wanted to be. I had set a goal for myself that kept getting pushed back each time and I knew I just had to make the slightest change for me to achieve it. Near the end of 2021, I got a job where I was able to work from home and I had decided that I was going to stay focused at this job and discipline myself to reach my goal. Coming from a space where I was trading and helping people learn an amazing skillset, to now having a set schedule on when I need to work and eat was a bit of a change but I knew where I wanted to go, so I stuck with it. Within 6 months I was able to reach above my goal that I had and was able to move in my first place in May 2022. At the end of it all, I knew that anything I actually put mind to, along with the obstacles that come with it, I could do it.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building an audience on social media is different for everyone. The things that stay the same to me is authenticity, and consistency. I think with all the methods of ways people teach to grow your followers, it gets everyone in their heads of having thousands and thousands of followers in such a short time. Now, with TikTok, that’s another story because one viral video and you can actually gain a lot of followers. Although, to have an audience that interacts and engages with your content, it starts with those two things I mentioned initially. If you’ve found a passion for something or simply just enjoy certain things about life, create content around that. This will make connecting with people easier because your are doing something that is authentic to your heart and it won’t be as hard to prop your phone up or turn your camera on. Now adding on to your authenticity, you have to keep it coming. Along with the algorithm being in play, you have to be consistent with whatever schedule you set for yourself so that the audience you do have is constantly seeing you, and you’re always at the top of their mind.
