We recently connected with Jasaley Lewis and have shared our conversation below.
Jasaley, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I think to be successful you need to have a vision of what your future looks like. It doesn’t have to be you at the finish line or a dollar amount, more so how your day to day will look like vs what it looks like currently. I think vision coincides with purpose. And when you are purposefully working towards something you are successful everyday.
My first day selling flowers did not go as smoothly as I would’ve liked, it could’ve easily been considered discouraging. However, the fact that I actually went and made the attempt made me feel closer to where I want to end up. I felt accomplished in the attempt and used the opportunity to prepare for my next.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I actually got introduced to the floral industry by doing a favor for a family friend. A woman who owned a flower shop needed help on the register during Mother’s Day. The sense of pride I felt handing over arrangements that I didn’t make, made me want to start creating them myself.
I always considered myself artistic but never an artist, but with flowers I feel free to create and rarely am I disappointed with a completed piece. The process in totality is therapeutic for me and that confirmed for me it’s where I need to be.
I create art with flowers and spread positivity and beauty into people’s lives and environments. I help capture moments and materialize what words may not get across. My work, my arrangements uplift people’s spirits and for that I am grateful.
I decided to ease myself into the field little by little. And that quickly turned into consistent everyday arrangements and events. Developing a revolving clientele and expanding my network I could no longer consider myself as a hobbyist, but a true professional in my craft.
I pride myself on being as personable as possible with my clients. Knowing that people want to be seen, heard and cared for is something that matters to me. I think about how I would want my loved ones and myself to be handled in areas that we may not be experts in. I do my best to deliver that caring experience to each and everyone of my clients.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
The blending of Fashion with Florals has definitely helped with my brands reputation. Pulling an audience who may not have initially been considering flowers at all, now want to have pieces that match their personal style. Know people that have good taste in anything will see the allure of my product/service.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
When developing a team I think it’s important to make use of people strongest skill sets and also have them teach each other. I think when people know multiple ways to look at one task it makes for a more confident group. And on the flip side when you have employees that feel like they have more to offer than just the work they’re doing it adds to them feeling like they’re in the right environment.
