We were lucky to catch up with Jarvis White recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jarvis, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
The steps that I take to be successful are as follows:
Being BOLD… creating the platform for which I want to share my dreams, accomplish my goals, and help others along the way.
Being able to REASON with myself… Understanding that I will have to make some changes in life, personally and professionally to elevate to the next level.
Bringing AWARENESS… Allowing my target audience to see what the brand has to offer. Showcasing all of the details and fine toning along the way.
Getting Ready to Network…. Having those key conversations with likeminded individuals and building relationships that will help connect partnerships and so much more.
Staying Determined… Stay the course, it will get hard but it’s all worth it, as I am doing this interview I am experiencing so hardships and setbacks, but I know that if I keep pushing all things will workout accordingly.
With success you have to understand that you can’t do any BRANDING unless you drop the ING to create a BRAND that you will be proud of.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
As the owner of an amazing Consulting Firm, The JWhite Consulting Firm is been in the game for 14 years and we are still Rocking it Out!
The JWhite Consulting Firm was not built overnight it went through phases, I first started out as Helping Hands 2 Smiling Faces, a start-up non-profit that focused on “lending a helping hand 2 place a smile on someone’s face”. The initiative for this organization was and still is to make sure that children, youth and young adults are aware of mental health, other health disparities, and never losing that creative play in the community in which they live. As time moved forward, I worked with numerous rockstars and on some awesome projects under this brand.
Then I realized that I needed to build the brand a little bit more so then I created Treasured Marketing, a company name that I came up with later on that would focus on event planning. It was May 2008 my first solo event, I was turning 25 and I wanted to give back in a big way so I called the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston up to partner with them for an amazing weekend of fun and fellowship and from there the Rockstar was born.
Little did I know RMHC was turning 25 as well and we celebrated with a three day weekend that consisted of a fashion show, a family fun day and bunch at the house. I was super excited to one, not only celebrate with them but to also make a donation in the contribution of monetary and product for the house. As time progress, I found myself working on weddings and other specialty events so the company then become The JWhite Corporation, this was 2009 I felt that I had arrived to the play with the big boys. I had worked on a stage play, started building a National Women and Girls Summit from the ground floor, was selected as the Creative Arts Director for the SEJ-BMCR Youth Harambee Conference, which I still currently serve as and then landed a career with Thomas Media Group based in Columbia, SC.
This is when I got to experience what corporate event planning was all about, as the assistant Expo Coordinator I saw an opportunity to build a brand to help the business and to create amazing relationships with some fabulous people. For the next two and a half years, I was able to build some phenomenal relationships that I am truly proud of. In 2012 there was a little set back that placed me in the position to question my personal brand, I felt that I had done something wrong so as a leader I stepped back and did a self-check, I had walked away from the brand, threw in the white towel and started working, punching a clock every day, of course I was not happy so I prayed about the next steps and then it hit me, The JWhite Consulting Firm was birthed in 2014.
The business was built to focus on my personal brand, making sure that I did my homework because I knew that I was going to build a brand that people would notice. My drive and determination helped me to create the tagline “Creating a Personal brand so that the Professional brand may Shine!” Now that the brand is established, I am now able to help other young entrepreneurs redefine their personal brand to then get noticed for their passion and willingness to lead.
Today I can say that I have been in the arena of event production, consulting and branding with a focus on creative play for ten plus years. I am super excited to see what the next chapter will look like for the brand.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
The road had not been smooth but it has been fear. I have had a lot of NO’s, but God stepped in and allowed things to happen when they needed to happen. I did not have the best support at times but I had to learn very quickly on how to have tough skin and to be that duck to allow things to roll off my back and not blow up every time. I quickly realized that I had young people watching my every move so I had to become a leader at a very young age. I had to learn how to stand my ground in a respectable way so that I would be taken seriously as a young man.
The one thing I will say is that a lot of people do not do business with me because one, I look younger then what I truly am and I am very knowledgeable for my age and they feel slightly intimidated.
I have built strength that I do not believe can and will be taken away, I have been hit with some hard reality and I have been able to bounce back and move forward in Jesus’ name.
As a great leader, I have been able to learn for my mistakes and gain knowledge from some amazing people along the way.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
My best source has been word of mouth. My clients have been my best cheerleaders and still are.
