We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jarrett Woolfolk a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jarrett thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
I always was an active individual. Graduating from high school in 2011, and seeking work i took what i could to make ends meet. I got my first gym job around 2o14. This is around the time I discovered my passion for personal training. I always wanted to impact the world in a positive way. And this seemed to be my best bet. I would be in the gym industry for the following 3 years. However I would go on the work at FedEx for a cleaning company for the next 5 years, one reason I had my first child and wasn’t really makinh as much as I needed working at gyms, even though this line of work truly made me happy. I would worked for the company until September 2022 where o would mysteriously be laid off, after all that time. I never stopped training myself physically and dabbled I’m training others , so with being unemployed I figured my best bet would be to go into business for myself like I always invisioned. I then started my brand, Fitness Unleashed and i have been self employed every since, and I don’t plan on letting up.

Jarrett, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I always wanted to find a way to influence people in a positive manner. Being a personal trainer is a way of making that possible for me. Its something about fitness that brings peace to me. On another note you cant deny , it doesn’t feel good to look good. When conducting services I try to understand what results my clients are expecting. And we attempt to reach them by practical approaches. No one individual is the same, it’s always fun to consult and learn more about them to make a plan unique to that individual. I want people to know that they are capable of reaching their goals they just have to work for it , simple as that. I don’t get here where I am today without the work I put into it.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Being patient and encouraging, being able to make any individual feel welcomed. As a trainer I accept anyone who is willing to put in the work , I give respect and expect it in return. If we can do that i feel we can easily reach any goal.
Respect goes a long way.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being down to earth and genuine, I feel has put me in a position for success. I believe that simply being yourself and respecting others will take you far in life in anything you do.
