We recently connected with Jarom Rogers and have shared our conversation below.
Jarom , appreciate you joining us today. One of the toughest things about entrepreneurship is that there is almost always unexpected problems that come up – problems that you often can’t read about in advance, can’t prepare for, etc. Have you had such and experience and if so, can you tell us the story of one of those unexpected problems you’ve encountered?
We were running a team of real estate agents and also flipping 4-5 homes a month. The market was really strong for over a decade. Feds decides to raise rates over night and nearly lost everything. We had every reason to throw in the towel and quit and give us. We were days, not weeks, days away from loosing everything but we kept fighting. We came across a solution that not only kept us from foreclosing on multiple homes but also kept our credit strong and bought us the time we needed to regain our balance to rebuild.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I own and operate a real estate team in Phoenix AZ. We have 90 agents scattered throughout the state. I decided to pursue real estate from a young age of 15. A friend/mentor of mine was in the industry at the time and I saw how he was able to balance work and life with the flexibility this career provided him and I knew right then that is what I wanted to do.
We represent buyers and sellers looking to buy or sell a home as well as acquire rundown homes and remodel and sell them, as well as turn 3/2 bath homes into 8bed 2 bath homes and rent out rooms to those who cant afford an apartment.
One of the things I would say I am most proud of is taking a team of two agents and turning it into a team of 90 while also maintaing the #1 spot on Zilliow in AZ.
Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
As mentioned before, we were running a very profitable flipping business and selling 4-5 homes a month. When interest rates climbed overnight it near bankrupted us. We fought everyday to keep afloat. Just when we thought we had it all figured out something else would come up that gave us days to come up with a solution to stay alive. This daily battle lasted for nearly 3 years.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Buy back your time by Dan Martell. This book was next level for me. I was running 1000 miles a minute all day every for years. I stared having so much on my plate that really important tasks and deadlines were getting missed.
I read buy back your time and was able to create leverage in my business that would allow me to focus on the most productive things.
Another book is miracle morning and Traction.
