We recently connected with Jarob Bramlett and have shared our conversation below.
Jarob, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I remember sitting in the church pew as a young child trying my best not to squirm and talk. To help with this, my dad would doodle a character then pass it to me so that I could try to attempt to draw the same thing. This Sunday ritual began a passion for drawing and creativity. Soon after, my brother, Josh, and I dreamed up the idea of having our own comic book one day called “JB Comics” as well as our own rock band called “Tempered Steel”. As fate would have it, now 20-some years later, Josh and I own a graphic design company called “Quiet Strength Design” and we are in an internationally touring rock band called “The Protest” together!
Jarob, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Upon graduating high school, my mom bought me a laptop and an early version of Photoshop as a graduation gift. I spent hours learning it by myself until a friend of mine who was working at LiveNation / TourDesign Creative in Indianapolis, Indiana asked if I would be interested in an internship. I jumped on that opportunity. That internship lead to me working there for 8 years, working with artists such as Paul McCartney, Prince, Madonna, Def Leppard, etc. When Covid hit the world, my brother and I started our own venture, Quiet Strength Design. Since then we have continued with a focus on the music industry but also doing everything from logos, digital banners, merchandise design, illustrating children’s books and more!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I absolutely love seeing art that we’ve done “out in the wild”. The time I saw a woman wearing a shirt that I’ve designed at a gas station, driving down the road and seeing a billboard with art we’ve done, or holding a physical cd in my hands that I designed never gets old. We are so thankful for those moments.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
We’ve noticed that a lot of great companies and bands don’t get the attention or appreciation they deserve because nothing in their branding is cohesive, memorable or catchy. We want to use our experience to ultimately improve your overall business just because we love art and people. This love for people and our love for the creator of all things is the driving force behind our art and our music.
