We recently connected with Jarius Hightower and have shared our conversation below.
Jarius, appreciate you joining us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Launching my business was always apart of my plan. My passion for art started when I designed things as a do it yourself (diy) projects and just post them and people actually wanted to buy my work. The ideas in my head went off like a ticking time bomb. My next days were to start my business by any means necessary! You have to make sacrifices and risks to get what you want and need in life. From there I was interviewing other entreprenuers on how to start a business and the needs. I learned through this process everything in life isn’t free. I was charged to gain information outside of other interviews and etc I knew just to start a successful running business . From there it was game time and I planned everything out a far as launch dates, social medias, and etc and Jarius of All Trades was going to come full effect whether you ready or not.
Jarius, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Jarius with Jarius Of All Trades. I’m not a jack of all trades, but a master a many. My business offer a lot of thing in the accessories industry. Down design bags, durags, slides all the way to my art work. My work speaks for itself only because everyone has something in common but it’s you who makes the difference with you and your business. My most proudest moment is when my friends and I recreated the Arrogant Tae the stylist and his model and friends for Halloween. That experience was quite fun. I ended up doing all my friends hair and shirt. I was only worried about if my work would be seen, until one day someone tag him and most people did. Later that on he saw my work and reposted us. I felt so excited because someone finally noticed my work and my business .
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
How I built my audience was posting until you can’t post no more. It certain times you have to post only because social media plays a major role with your business. My advice to anyone who needs to build a base keep posting! Even when you think traffic isn’t coming still post! You never know who’s looking . That may be your big break.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
How I got started with my side hustle was basically selling my commission peices to help my Finacial needs at that time as for as a car, art supplies, and etc. From there I really had the passion to start something to keep more customers coming. Actually putting time and energy into a moment thing let’s make it a permanent thing. Getting thing situated to start a business was nothing for me because I literally had already started my process. Now, I can say my side hustling became a career for me because my business is my child and i my child to be successful as possible.
