We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jarell Bell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jarell, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
Yes! When it comes to Social Media, I am very hands on with Managing my Content/Brand Content on Platforms. I feel that the Presentation is everything!
What is presented represents who you are and what you stand for. Not only is your Business Name on the line but your Name in general.
Which ever way your content is presented determines how your Audience will perceive you as well as your Brand.
There are many people who hire people to Manage their Platforms due to overload of Traffic, Not having time, etc but in my case I feel its a great experience while forming a connection. To me it gives whoever you chat with the chance to get to know you on a more personal level outside of Business building a trustworthy relationship with potential customers.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I (Datboyjunnie) or (JunnieB) started to pursue music in the year 2010 with a few peers who had formed a label by the name “Karrupt Productions” which consisted of myself and a few other Artist,Djs,and Producers. Before that I was into Writing! Watching everyone around me starting with my Cousin,Brother and Friends record music and perform gave me Motivation to pursue the craft. 2012 I began to take it seriously and start to learn the Business as I go. Along the way I developed my own Brand, faced a few obstacles but I never gave completely up on what I set out to do. My over all goal was to build my own label and learn how to compete in a pay to play business. After years of Artist Development I began to look more on the Business side to be able to understand what I may be up against. Staying in the Studio was imperative but learning to conduct Business and Network was a challenge being a new face. What sets myself as well as my Brand apart from others is Determination and the will to succeed. 2020 I decided to form an LLC by the name of Cobb Cartel Music Group to branch off from the name “Bread GANG” because I had found out that another Artist had rights to it. Almost facing a possible lawsuit I decided to rebrand into Cobb Cartel for the simple fact Cobb County being where I was raised has become a Pilar in Atlanta’s Music Scene. As far as adding the name Cartel I believe myself and my peer may dominate the market in the industry that we are pursuing which is Entertainment and Music. Some of the Artist we have on the Roster are from different states but as a whole and as a collective we all work together to build each other and I do my best to organize and manage the affairs of each Artist as well as myself. I provide a number of services like Promotion, Design, Managing etc. Most of the time that’s what my schedule will consist of. I’ve solved several problems for other Artist who have become House-Hold names but I would rather save that conversation for a later date. The things I am most proud of is being able to continue to make great music and excel at my craft. The number one thing I want people to know is that he works hard. The music never stops coming.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my Social Media Presence the same as everyone else is doing right now within the industry…….by making Freestyle Videos, Small VLogs, and Promo Content. But unlike them I used not just one Platform but all. Old to New, Popular to Not Popular, even the most common ones. Thing is I didn’t limit myself to who I can reach and how many fans I can reach. I just started reaching and going directly at the source.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
At the start of everything we came across various obstacles. Names,Songs, and Ideas Being stolen. I can’t express how many times I felt like throwing in the towel but with pain comes resilience. Although it hurt the Brand I got smarter and allowed myself to learn and gain more knowledge and insight on how to become a more prominent figure within the industry whether mainstream or underground I accept my losses and want to play the game more. I noticed the approach I was taking was building up momentum inside me and I never allowed myself to fall short after that.
