We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jared Mosley a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jared, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I began my music journey in the church, where the heartbeat of the service the drums first caught my soul. I was just 7 years old when I started learning how to play, taking music lessons and studying the craft with a seriousness that surprised even me. Every Sunday, as I sat behind the drum kit, I felt something spiritual an indescribable high that connected me deeply to the music, the message, and the people in the room.
That feeling lit a fire in me. Drumming wasn’t just a hobby; it became a way to express what I couldn’t put into words. Over time, my love for rhythm grew into a full-blown passion for sound. I started exploring recording, producing, and creating music 2020 that could move people the same way those church services moved me. Prior I started recording music through a software called audacity with some low budget earphones in 2017. Eventually moving to Logic Pro x with a home studio setup in 2020.
That passion eventually led me to pursue music production in college, where I dove deeper into songwriting, engineering, and the technical side of the art. I graduated Remington College earlier this year with a Beat production and a recording arts degree. What started in the church with a pair of drumsticks turned into a lifelong mission to create music that’s felt not just heard.
Jared, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I would say that I’m a really creative person that takes individuality very seriously. Through art and just every day expression especially with fashion. I got into the industry with passion and wanting to challenge myself. The creative work that I provide I’m always down for a collaborative feature whether it’s with Beat production no song collapse. I’m always really down for collaboration. What sets me a part from others is my drive. My work ethic not giving up just treating it like an every day thing like breathing. I’m truly most proud of myself for overcoming all my obstacles in life and my music achievements so far.
I would want my fans to know that I’m a very laid-back and humble person that just simply loves to create and alchemize
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being an artist and creative is the ability to turn nothing into something it’s pure alchemy. You’re transforming raw, invisible ideas into something tangible, something that’s never existed before. That process of creation is both magical and deeply fulfilling.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
That other peoples opinions don’t matter when it comes to music whether they’re musically inclined or not to do what you wanna do regardless. The backstory is just from having feedback positive or negative.
