We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jared Harris a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jared, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Taking A Risk! When I First Started 1Glass Auto Glass,
I literally Was Out Of My Mind (so I thought). The finance and clients was not there at ALL & No Clue on how I was going to make it. It takes discipline & dedication for sure! The Budget was tough, the toughest thing I was ever trying to budget while after getting let go from the previous employer a local glass works company for trying to make some side cash from side work, the bills were still due etc. From researching and sourcing things to promote my business for free passing out business cards , word of mouth, social media & any sub work out there. Every Dollar Invested from the ground up the biggest , life changing risk I ever was making was happening We Live Once & I Was Determine To Concur & Make Way. I Had The Experience of course from previously working with the biggest glass company in the nation/world. & with knowledge from local companies I’ve worked for also. So With The Knowledge & That experience I used the tools and Prayer Along The Way. So now here almost into my Third Year it’s still rolling ,still taking risks. Still thinking it’s a big mistake with the stress & staying humble.
Any Advice I Can Give Is If You Find Something That You Love To Do and want something out of it take the risk!
It’ll fail in ways (you’ll think) but you’ll make it. Keep the faith and keep trucking along. Hang in there like the cat hanging on a limb climbing back up. Lol
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
@1Glassautoglass We replace, repair, calibrate auto glass providing affordable replacement ,
& repairs safely. Mostly every job we’re using the safe glass removal tool that has a fiber string cutting the bead of urethane holding the glass intact and protecting the interior by protective shields so no interior is damaged. Vs the traditional metal scratching tools that can potentially damaged the vehicle the easiest. I believe to treat every vehicle as of it was my own it doesn’t matter if it’s a $200- 200k valued automobile. Just Recently Started Calibrations with the Autel Advanced Diagnostics System Our calibrations are always set back to factory manufacture spec. And that the advantage 1Glass has as a local company using these tools at and affordable cost it’s a local advantage.
So The Brand Is Represented To Be professional, local, caring here to help and not taken advantage of! To be an advantage!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The Advantage Of helping others knowing they didn’t have much of a budget for the glass replacement or repair. As I myself know the feeling!
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Word of mouth has helped a lot! Also has social media!
