Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Hale.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began making costumes as a child. I would dress up as my favorite character at the time and just have fun. As I grew older I began to draw more than to make costumes. It wasn’t until 2014 that I started making costumes again. I started with Eva Foam and still use it to this day although my skills have greatly improved since then.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a relatively smooth road for me to increase my skillset. God has graced me with such wonderful gifts and I try to pass on what I learn to others.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in working with EVA foam. I feel like I am known for making foam not look like foam. I am most proud of how I have learned to make foam look like metal. I have had many people handle my props and expect them to be much heavier because they thought it was metal
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as moving forward. If you have to fail to learn to correct something then you can move forward. So there is success even in failure.
