We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jarard Johnson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jarard below.
Jarard, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents raised me with the the ideology that humility makes you coachable. And being coachable is necessary for success. So, I have always tried to remain humble so that I could continue to absorb lessons in order to enhance my abilities.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Well, I got into radio in 2001 and that was 100% God’s call. I was in a nightclub as the MC, and the program director of the radio station happened to be in the club and heard me controlling the crowd. To make a long story short, he approached me and basically said “do you think you can do THIS on the radio?” I said “absolutely” and the rest is history. From that, I was able to take in his instruction and coaching and become a renowned multi-media personality with a 20+ year run.
On the side of meteorology, I always had a love for the weather since I was a little kid. Growing up in Denver, the weather is always doing something so you get to experience all different types of climate behaviors. So when I went to college, I made atmospheric sciences and meteorology my major.
As far as the automotive industry goes, I get that from my father. He was a sales manager for a long time when I was a kid and he had a love for automobiles. I too, have the same level of passion for cars and ended up getting into the industry. Then once I got in the business, I just kept getting promoted. I guess I was doing some stuff right and now I am a CFO.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
To me the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the response and appreciation from others that comes with it. Being able to share your talents and having people embrace them is a great feeling

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
The risk that is involved can sometimes scare people away. Being a creative and then relying on it is not for the faint of heart. It doesn’t provide stability at first, and there is a lot of disappointment that comes with it. When people see your success, that’s them seeing the finished product, but they don’t see what you went thru to get there. You’ve gotta be ready for a roller coaster of a ride if you want to be a creative.
