We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Janna Feiguinova. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Janna below.
Hi Janna, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
From Dream to Reality in the World of Fashion.
Three decades ago, I arrived in the United States with a suitcase full of dreams and an unwavering passion for style. I was stepping into the unknown, but one thing was certain—I had an innate eye for beauty, and I knew that fashion was my calling.
The Journey Begins
My career started not in fashion but in marketing, a field that taught me invaluable lessons about consumer behavior, branding, and the power of visual storytelling. Understanding how people perceive themselves—and how they want to be perceived—became an essential part of my expertise.
As my career evolved, I found myself drawn to the artistry of jewelry. I worked as a jewelry buyer and explored design, refining my ability to recognize craftsmanship, detail, and the way accessories enhance personal style. But deep down, I knew I wanted to go further.
Taking the Leap
My lifelong dream of working in fashion never faded, and I knew I had to take a leap of faith. I pursued formal education in styling, attending three European fashion schools, where I mastered the art of personal styling, editorial fashion, and runway production. The knowledge I gained, combined with my years of experience in marketing and jewelry, gave me a unique perspective on style—not just as clothing, but as a powerful tool for self-expression and confidence.
Turning Passion into a Career
Now, I am a professional stylist and image consultant, working with both personal clients and in the fashion industry for editorials and catwalks. I have styled over **400 looks** for CEOs, entrepreneurs, business professionals, and everyday individuals looking to elevate their image.
Beyond personal styling, I have also worked backstage at fashion shows, selecting models, overseeing makeup and hair teams, and curating runway presentations. I even had the privilege of styling my own shows at the **2023 and 2024 Fashion Week of Brooklyn**, bringing my creative vision to life on a grand stage.
My Mission
For me, styling is more than just fashion—it’s about helping people **feel confident, powerful, and authentic**. The way we dress influences not only how others see us but, more importantly, how we see ourselves. My mission is to help my clients uncover their unique style and embrace their individuality through clothing, accessories, hair, and makeup.
I believe that fashion is a form of silent communication. It tells the world who we are before we even speak. My goal is to make sure my clients’ style aligns with their identity, aspirations, and the image they want to project.
Looking Ahead
Every transformation I facilitate—whether it’s a complete wardrobe overhaul, styling for a major event, or crafting a powerful business image—fuels my passion for what I do. My journey has been one of growth, adaptation, and self-discovery, and I’m excited to continue helping others discover their own confidence and style.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For those who haven’t heard about me before, my name is Janna Feiguinova (@janna.fey), and I am a professional personal stylist and image consultant with years of experience in both fashion industry styling (editorials and runway) and private client styling (professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs). My mission is to help people discover and embrace their personal style, ensuring they feel confident, empowered, and authentic in their appearance.
How I Got Into Styling
My journey into fashion has been anything but conventional. I arrived in the United States three decades ago with a deep passion for style and an eye for aesthetics. My early career began in marketing, where I developed a strong understanding of branding, consumer psychology, and the power of visual identity.
This foundation led me into the world of jewelry design and buying, where I refined my ability to recognize craftsmanship and the nuances of accessorizing. However, determined to turn my passion into a career, I pursued formal education in styling, training in different fashion/styling schools to develop expertise in personal styling, editorial fashion, and runway production.
Today, I have styled over 400 looks for individuals and fashion industry projects alike, bringing a unique blend of global fashion influences, cultural understanding, and strategic styling techniques to every client I work with.
My Approach: The Art of Styling with Purpose
I believe that how we dress is a reflection of how we feel inside. My goal is to help my clients align their outer appearance with their inner confidence, whether that means power dressing for professional success, creating an effortlessly stylish everyday look, or curating a wardrobe that enhances their unique personality.

I tailor my services to meet the needs of busy professionals, offering both in-person and virtual styling sessions. Every client relationship begins with a complimentary 30-minute consultation, where we discuss lifestyle, goals, and budget. From there, I create a customized styling plan that ensures dressing becomes an effortless, enjoyable process.

That transformation is what fuels my creative journey every day.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Turning Setbacks into Success: A Journey of Resilience and Reinvention
I arrived in America as a tourist in the 90s with two suitcases, a small child, and just $200 in my pocket—the maximum allowed at the time. I didn’t speak English, but I had something even more powerful: an unshakable determination, burning desire to build a better future my child and myself.
To survive, I took on any job I could find—nanny, cleaner, waitress, companionn—anything that would put food on the table. As soon as I learned even a little English, I began searching for opportunities beyond survival. I knew I wanted more than just a job—I wanted to build something meaningful.
That’s when I met the owners of a company that distributed materials for the jewelry industry. They shared a key insight: at the time, Swarovski was a monopoly, dictating prices because there was no competition in the high-quality glass market. That conversation sparked an idea —what if I could help create an alternative supplier, who can offer jewelry manufacturers more affordable options?
I leveraged my network, finding specialists in Russia ( it was in 90s) who understood the intricate process of glass production. My partners and I secured investors, and a new company was born. We built a factory from the ground up, purchased state-of-the-art equipment, and began experimental production.
It was a high-stakes venture, filled with unknowns—Swarovski’s proprietary methods were closely guarded trade secrets. Our team of scientists worked tirelessly to develop an alternative, but progress took longer than anticipated. After two years of effort, our investors pulled out.
The business failed.
I lost everything —my savings, my income, my job. I had a child to support, and I was back at square one. It was a very difficult time!!!!!
But I refused to let failure define me.
I fell back on my first degree—a Master’s in Mathematics—and retrained as a programmer while on unemployment. Once I got back on my feet, working as a programmer, I started looking for new business opportunities that better aligned with my strengths and passions. That’s when I transitioned into marketing, eventually becoming a Marketing Director for private companies.
Yet, deep down, I knew my true passion was in fashion and personal style. So I took another leap of faith—I went back to school, trained as a stylist, and followed my dream.
Today, I run my own styling and image consulting business, helping clients look and feel their best. Looking back, I see that every setback, every reinvention, and every risk led me to where I am now.
Resilience isn’t about never failing—it’s about rising again, each time stronger than before.
