We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Janmetra Waddell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Janmetra below.
Janmetra, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
I am the ONLY Live Past Crazy Specialist- and I share my 18-year healing journey with women to help them R.I.SE. (Revitalizing Individual Sacred Energy).
A defining moment for me was one I published my first book. I am a survivor of domestic violence and lived in fear for years. I was always looking over my shoulder and careful of my surroundings and I just did not trust anyone. One day I had the opportunity to share my story with a group of ladies and afterward, I received a letter saying that- had I not shared my story that day she would have stayed with her abuser.
This gave me the courage to put pen to paper and begin to tell my story. I was so nervous because I wasn’t sure someone wanted to hear my story or that it even matter. The more I wrote the more I understood that “someone is waiting for me to move and they will not move until I move! ”
After the first book, the fear and stress were not as great. The second book which talks about how you begin to live after crazy- and that there is life after chaos, truly set me free to no longer identify as a survivor but to focus on the healing aspect.
Now instead of sharing my story of abuse, I share my story of healing and what happens on that journey, and the tools that can be used along the way.
It has been 19 years ( 166,440 hours) of healing time. I now share my tools during the Sister R.I.S.E. Retreat (Revitalizing Individuals Sacred Energy) and tips during the Fearless Morning Show on FB.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am most proud of the fact that I am the ONLY Live Past Crazy Specialist! I work strategically with women to R.I.S.E- mastering their source of power as a mindset mediator.
I began this work as a mindset mediator and Live Past Crazy Specialist after I survived crazy! We all define crazy differently- however, there are 5 tips that anyone can use to begin to calm the chaos/crazy and begin to revitalize their sacred energy.
My craziness was surviving domestic violence at the hands of my pastor (husband) and from that to being homeless with children and finding my way to finish my MBA and eventually write 8 books. The journey through midnight is one that I share freely with others and serve as a guide along the way.
I offer Sister Healing Circle Membership Group and Sister R.I.S.E Retreat (yearly) for women to learn different modalities and share thoughts and ideas while they are on their healing journey.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Sharing the raw details of my story. The ugly part is that nobody wants to discuss and dismiss the stigma of church and religion. Addressing what happens when you’re angry at God, when you question everything, and what happens when you find yourself lost and standing in the middle of chaos and crazy.
When you don’t want to hear another standard quote or answer… When those things don’t work, what do you do?
I shared all of that and then I share how you can begin your healing journey past that and what those steps look like- second by second
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
A huge part of success is understanding how to work within yourself and having a deeper knowledge of how you are choosing to show up in the world. Success is about how you respect those who choose to allow you to lead them!
