We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Janet Gomez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Janet, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I started my creative marketing studio because I saw a significant need in my community. As a woman entrepreneur myself, I noticed that many women-owned businesses were struggling to show up as their authentic selves on social media or struggling with content creation. I am passionate about helping businesses leverage the power of social media to connect with their audience, tell their unique story, and achieve their goals. It brings me joy to support fellow women entrepreneurs in overcoming these challenges and thrive on social media.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am the founder of a creative marketing studio, Jan’s Spring Design, where we specialize in social media management and product styling for women-owned small businesses. I give back their time so they can focus on the things they truly love. I saw a huge void where not only do we, as women, do so much, but we are sometimes unable to connect with people on a personal level. That is why I get to know my clients to ensure they show up as authentic selves on their social media pages.
Have you ever had to pivot?
There was a time in my small business when I found myself overwhelmed after taking on too many clients. With little to no sleep and feeling the strain of burnout, I knew I had to make a change. I made the decision to hire someone to support me, and it turned out to be the best decision ever. By investing in my business and bringing in additional help, I was able to regain focus, delegate tasks, and create more time for other important aspects of my business.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building a community means everything to me. I make it a priority to engage with my followers by responding to their direct messages and comments on my posts. I believe that every interaction matters, and I strive to be a friendly and approachable presence at in-person events. I aim to truly know the people who follow me and foster genuine relationships with them. Instead of focusing on the number of followers I don’t have, I focus on nurturing the following I have now. Building a strong community is about quality, not quantity, and I appreciate the little things that go a long way in creating meaningful connections with my audience.
