Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ja’Net Adams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Ja’Net, thanks for joining us today. What’s one of the most important lessons you learned in school?

It was in college and I was being interviewed for an internship that I would eventually get. The hiring manager told me “I don’t care what your piece of paper says, I care about how much money you are going to make the company.” At that moment I knew that it was necessary to graduate from college, but if you can make people money you become even more valuable over the competition.

Ja’Net, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

When I first started this Financial Wellness and Economic Mobility firm I was focused on teaching Financial Literacy to college students because I knew if I could keep their student loan debt low then after graduation they could pay it off quickly and start to build wealth. Since then our company has branched out to K-12, corporations, government and nonprofit. We have helped millions around the world build wealth. I am most proud of the millions of dollars that we have help people save as well in debt that has been paid off.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

The way that I built my audience on social media was by sharing my expertise through lives especially instagram lives. People started to follow me and share my content because it was solely around financial wellness.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

The book the “12 Week Year” really helped me make a shift in my business because it teaches focus. To not do annual goals, but to set goals every 12 weeks which leads to more goals being accomplished throughout the year.
