Janell, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission behind my business is to help women feel confident and believe in themselves no matter the circumstances. I want to uplift women and encourage them to be themselves unapologetically!

Hi everyone! My name is Janell, I’m a licensed cosmetologist and entrepreneur from the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
I started my entrepreneurship journey 1 year ago and what a journey it has been! I started my journey with my cosmetic business Rose & Co.
Rose & Co was an idea given to me by mom. She suggested I started a business so I started brainstorming. With me being a cosmologist, I figured I stay within the beauty industry and start a cosmetic business!
What sets Rose & Co apart from the others is, we are a women empowerment based brand. Our goal is to uplift women through lip care and help them feel good with our products.
Outside of Rose & Co, I started my social media business 2 months ago with the same mission:
Uplift women and encourage them to be themselves through content!
The one thing I’m most proud of between both of my businesses is the fact that I’m building a community of women who I can connect with and help in anyway I can!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The best way to build your social media presence is to SHOW UP! Your audience wants to see you and know that you’re active and you’re a real human being.
Engage with your audience! Don’t just build followers and not engage or act like they don’t exist.
BE YOURSELF! Always… ALWAYS be yourself. No one can be the best version of you but YOU!

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Social media is the best way to communicate with clients. It’s honestly the best way to show your brand and show your clients you appreciate them! Make announcements, send them something personal to let them know you appreciate them and their loyalty!
