We were lucky to catch up with Janaye Johnson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Janaye, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I’ve worked in the health care industry for ten years, and four of those have been as a registered nurse. I enjoy taking care of people and supporting them throughout their healing process. My calling has always been to nurture others and to inform people about the healing process. As a healthcare professional, this disturbed me because at that point in their journey, I could no longer assistance them beyond their hospital stay. Patients in the hospital sometimes worry about recovering because they don’t have the support or resources they need to get well. I decided to start a home care company because it allows me to assist patients outside of the hospital and obtain the resources they require for their recovery at home..
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Given that we make sure that our clients are completely supported in the convenience of their own homes, Comforting Care is a distinctive brand. To make sure our clients are receiving complete support, we constantly check in on them. We often check on the clients, but we also make sure that our caregivers are supported and know we’re here to help.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I always check in with my clients once a month to make sure everything is going well and that their needs are being met. As busy as we all are, reaching out and checking in are crucial because communication is the key to everything. My clients and I go over a wide range of issues at our monthly check-ins, including family, health, education, vacations, special occasions, and more. These one-on-one meetings are greatly valued since they enable you and the customer to establish a trustworthy relationship.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I would say the internet has been very helpful to my career. You tube has so many educational videos and resources out there that you can utilize. It helped me with finding different payroll companies, specialized clock in and clock out companies specifically for home care, reliable insurance information. This is a great way to gain some knowledge about the industry before getting started.
