We were lucky to catch up with Janaydia Gaines recently and have shared our conversation below.
Janaydia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Learning how to film & videography came easy to me , I start doing photography but with photography, I would always do behind the scenes. I felt like my Behind the scenes weren’t being credited enough and I love shooting films and creating videos so I just started doing those separately. I don’t think I would have sped up the learning process, I feel like process is process but I would have separated the two to start with so that way they’re both being studied throughly. The skills that were most essential were the imagination and the mindset , it’s easy to learn the camera but with the thought and imagination behind it , it made it more interesting! Obstacles would be the money income , having the equipment to be able to work & not having as much people cheering me on.
Janaydia , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started with videography first just by shooting behind the scenes of my Photoshoots and editing them! I would set my camera up and record me as I shoot and then go home , and sit for hours making sure the video was to my liking! And then after shooting behind the scenes I started doing interviews & after that I got into filmmaking! I am a filmmaker & videographer so I tell stories and dreams! There can only be one me so my work has a different feel , a different emotions. I work hard for my brand / Career and Name , I take it very seriously!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to be a successful filmmaker and videographer! I want to be able to touch people when they watch my films even cry , I want my films to speak to people and bring them more closer to what I am actually creating!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an an artist and creator would be seeing the smile on people’s faces when seeing my work. Having people congratulate me on my work ethic and even recommend my work!
