We were lucky to catch up with JaNae Bell recently and have shared our conversation below.

JaNae, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

I was about 17 or 18 years old when the power of God’s anointing Manifested into my life. I remember staring at myself in the bathroom mirror, giving myself one of those self uplifting talks that some people do when they are feeling down and are trying to figure out how to keep moving forward..During that life changing reflection, I heard the voice of God in my head say, Pray Grind Praise, The Keys To Success. And ever since that day , “PGP” became a motto I would live by daily. Then I turned the motto into a Clothing brand because of my natural interest in Fashion. From a brand it then became a movement because everyone started to be attracted to the meaning of the logo and the brand itself. I then turned into a lifestyle brand because it helped so many people get through life’s tribulations.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am JaNae Bell. I grew up in San Diego. I am a poet, writer, brand owner, motivational speaker, knowledge seeker and inspiring community activist. I got into the industry of Fashion by Following God’s voice and turning my motto into a clothing line. At PGP Apparel we provide products such as clothing, home / office decor and accessories. We also specialize in Custom made items for various events throughout the year like baby showers or graduation. We help people push through life’s obstacles which can fuel someone into becoming a better person and eventually reaching their highest potential which will lead to one living in their truth and finding their purpose. We are unique from other brands because we are a lifestyle brand which means our actions, decisions and thoughts are congruent with the meaning of what PGP is, Persistence. I am most proud of the fact that I stand for something. And that this something drives me to inspire others to overcome their own battles and strive for success! I want my fans to know that we are a movement that serves the people. And we have what you need to be great in this lifetime!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I believe ever since PGP was birth into my reality I have endured strength , patience understanding and gratitude from what I grow through in life. The first year I turned PGP into a clothing line my nana , my rock had passed away. A few shirts down and a couple of years later I attempted to have PGP’s first photo shoot and the photographer scammed me out my money and didn’t come through with the finish products of the photo shoot. Then when I had PGP’s first Fall Line collection I had become homeless. But that didn’t stop me, I stayed consistent. And I came back even harder the year around with a successful photo shoot and dropped PGP first commercial. But life came swinging , I was battling the down spiral of my health while trying to still stay consistent in during God’s work. I am currently healing from all the previous obstacles I went through but I learned to keep Faith and keep my eyes and focus on God. My brand is how I express the power one has to overcome anything life throws at us. And not only have I been made a great example to keep pursing your dreams , but I am also a great of example of what following the keys to success looks like. Awhole lot of prayer , grinding and much more praising.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

When Managing a team the team has to know that each players roll is just as important as the next person’s. And each person has to know the role that they play so everything can run smoothly. And as the manager of that team the leader needs to know the players strengths and weaknesses. Managing a team can become smooth when everyone on that team has the drive and a common goal they are trying to reach. With results it is easy to maintain high morale within a group . Goal setting is important , discipline is important and consistency is just as important as the rest. Because PGP The Movement is a brand that inspires people to keep moving forward towards what they desire it is very fulfilling to be apart of a movement like that. As Nipsey Hussle said “The highest human act is to inspire” and I believe at the end of the day fulfillment is much more tasteful than any temporary sensations.
