Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jan Myers. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Jan, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
The name Stone Soup ISC stems from the childhood story of a traveler enticing a poor village to work together to produce a meal everyone could enjoy. The traveler had mentioned how much better the soup would be if only it had potatoes. A villager contributed potatoes. This continued until a wonderful pot of soup was created through individual contributions from what little each home had in their pantries; potatoes, carrots, corn, etc. As in the story, individuals in the community also add their unique perspectives and creations to Stone Soup ISC. We all add to the “soup” and we all enjoy it together. We also offer a variety of workshops, classes and events weekly and monthly. Striving to find areas of interest and spiritual growth for our community.
ISC stands for ‘Intuitive Spiritual Center’
We are a professionally operated spiritual center utilizing the gifts and talents of many lightworkers. Our spiritual work comes from the one source of universal light and love.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Stone Soup ISC began with a few friends sitting around a table chatting about spirituality. We began to learn and grow together. Our desire is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where those with questions can gather, learn, grow and heal, while also sponsoring local artists and artisans. We’re always on the look-out for different modalities in healing, readings, teachers and gifted individuals. We are truly blessed to have so many in our community. Our goal is to reach around the globe with all the Love and Light we’ve been granted. Our shop offers artwork, jewelry, stones and crystals, sage and incense, and “tools” to help others heal and grow. As I described earlier, “Stone Soup” is grounded in the idea of community involvement. We have a great number of people adding to the soup and there’s always room for more.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
In the beginning there weren’t a lot of funds available for start up. Initially, we sold the works of local artists and artisans on a consignment basis. A percentage of each sale went back into Stone Soup. The more people that found out about us the more was put back into growing Stone Soup and expanding the services and items offered.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe our reputation is due to a sincere, heartfelt desire to help others. All we do is guided by Spirit. We have faith in the journey and the paths we walk. Faith and Love are the key components of our integrity. The people working through Stone Soup are more concerned with helping others than about money. We all agree; we have to have money to live, but we don’t have to live for it. We strive to locate and supply the services and tools our community needs to continue their growth.
