Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jamya Smith. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jamya thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful I work hard and have faith in God. Without the man above, I would not be where I am today. He gave me the bravery and fortitude to launch my clothes line. It gave me and everyone else who is afraid to stand out for themselves a voice. I started to feel more confident than I had ever felt.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I founded Unique Folks Only in 2020 to support those who have been and still are being bullied. I’m working on shirts and have sweatsuits. I would like to make a donation to an organisation that works to stop bullying. I was proud to see so many individuals wearing my brand and appreciating its significance.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Starting college helped me market my business and gain customers. I am now involved in two fashion shows as well as a number of small business events. I also use the campus to generate high-quality content for social media.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I was younger, I was severely bullied, and there were moments when I did not want to attend school. Eventually, I chose to stand up for myself and realised I needed to be the one to assist others stand up for themselves. This eventually led me to develop the brand I have today.
