Jamya, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.

It’s crazy that just a few years ago, I was a high school student and now I’ve turned my passion into a business. I am so grateful for the tremendous amount of support I’ve received since I started. Honestly, I didn’t expect to grow so fast just by doing something that I love.

As a stylist, I dedicate a lot of my time to my clients. I’m so passionate about seeing them happy that you’ll rarely hear the word ‘No’ come out of my mouth no matter how tired or exhausted I may be. Some may say I’m a workaholic, but I’m simply living out my dreams doing what I love.

I know I speak for all stylists when I say ‘we balance a lot.’ Work/life balance can be difficult at times, but I’m dedicated to delivering the best experience to my clients always and nothing less.

amourmyhair is an online hair company offering a variety of high-quality services and affordable products. Established in 2021, We’re not only a place where you can get beautified; we’re a one-stop shop.

As a business owner, I take pride in the products and services I offer my clients. My goal is to ensure each client not only leaves my chair satisfied, but that I provide an experience like no other that cannot be duplicated.

To some, I may be young, but I make sure to prioritize always putting my clients first. The way I run my business speaks volumes. But I don’t want to only be known as a successful business owner. My goal is to always leave a lasting impact on everyone that crosses my path.

amourmyhair has seen major growth since the beginning. I’ve manifested everything I have today, and I don’t plan to stop until amourmyhair is a multi-million dollar business and everyone knows our name.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

When I started my business in high school, I never imagined that it would have expanded the way that it has. It started as just a side hustle and was a way for me to make a little bit of extra money.

Over the past few months, I’ve dedicated so much time and effort and my business has skyrocketed. I’ve learned that doing hair isn’t just something that I’m passionate about; it’s my destiny. It’s more than about the money for me. I enjoy seeing the smiles on my clients faces when they leave my chair.

My biggest goal is, and has always been, to keep perfecting my craft and putting in the work to do whatever it takes to get my business to the next level.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The most effective strategy for me has been word of mouth. It has gotten me a long way in my career because my work speaks for itself. Although I’ve gained clients in many other ways, that’s the strategy that has brought in the most clients. Really, any platform I’ve touched helped me build my clientele.

When it came to hair, I started by doing my own hair. I entered the industry while I was in high school, and I was able to make a brand for myself. This helped me grow my clientele because I stayed up-to-date on trends to bring more attention to myself. I stood out when it came to my hair because I knew the audience and what the girls are looking for. My goal is to always be open to trying new styles and techniques so that my clients always leave my chair fulfilled.
